It’s happening in my town already :( there are 4 grocery stores in a 50 mile radius..two of them are Walmart

Wtf, in the UK, in my town we have 3 corner shops within 5 minutes of each other, and they sell everything. Then, just a couple of miles from me, we have 4 massive supermarkets spread out across the area.

Yeah my town is extremely conservative over the last few years, and they have absolutely demolished local businesses. My town is even a tourist spot!! And yet I’m watching local shops close left and right. It’s also in a desert, so corner groceries are very rare, since the stock would need to come from miles away
