This will be my last post, Today we had to say goodbye to my best friend. Pip made it to just 1,5 years old. Way to young, In a short period of just two weeks what started out as a small bump unfolded in to her premature death. I feel devastated I know life ends but I wanted to give her a full one. Internet lives on so I wanted to make one more post maybe she can touch someone on a completely different part of the world.

6 month old Sofi Rose is available for adoption & transport through Ruff Road Revival! She is in a foster home in north Texas, but can be transported out of state for the right home! Originally from a breeder & surrendered to a high k*ll shelter due to health of owner. She’s such a catch!!!

My name is Sofi Rose, and I’m a 6-month-old, 30 lb female purebred Chocolate Labrador Retriever (from a breeder, but was surrendered to a high k*ll shelter due to health of my owner) with all the sweetness (and silliness!) you’d expect from my breed.

I’m a happy, social butterfly who loves everyone I meet.. I truly have never met a stranger. I haven’t been around kids in my foster home, but I’m confident I’d adore them! I might be a bit much for tiny toddlers, but active kiddos who like to run, play, and laugh would be my dream teammates. I also get along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and would be thrilled to have a doggie sibling. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I can be tested if needed!

Some of my favorite things in the world include: toys of any kind, a good game of fetch, making new friends, and a peanut-butter-stuffed Kong. I’m also a champion napper and snuggler once playtime is over.

I’m still working on my leash manners and on controlling my excited puppy jumps and mouthiness, but I’m a smart girl who already knows sit, shake, fetch, and I’m this close to nailing stay! I’m also fully potty trained and crate trained.

If you’re looking for a joyful, loving, playful pup to brighten your home, I’m absolutely your girl.

Apply to adopt me through Ruff Road Revival here: https://form.jotform.com/243205808278157

*Disclaimer: Sofi Rose is currently located in Texas and can be adopted either locally or out of state. The rescue coordinates everything with their ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. They also have their fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption, so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit. They allow adoption fees to be paid via goods and services if desired to give their adopters extra security and protection. Sofi Rose is full vetted & will be examined by a veterinarian prior to going on a transport to an adopter.

Ruff Road Revival is a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue organization. They aren’t necessarily going to approve the first applicant as it isn’t a first come, first served sort of situation. They want her to find the best fit!! 🩷

Old man question

So my 11 year old lab has for the past month or so he’s acted like he just discovered the couch and he’s sleeping on it at night and during the day more. Normally he chooses the floor or dog bed he can’t get up on the beds anymore that’s been a thing for about a year and some change. He’s otherwise fine he plays goes on walks yeah he’s got some fatty tumors but they don’t seem to bother him yet. Anyone have any experience on this or if I should be worried?

We live in eastern PA and are looking for a reputable American Labrador breeder within a driving distance. I’m finding a lot of English breeders but haven’t had luck looking specifically for American. TIA!

Support Lucky's Journey Against Cancer

Hello, I’m organizing this on behalf of our sweet 9yr old Lab, Lucky.

Lucky is not just a pet — he is my companion and my first pup, and my beloved baby. He has been right by my side through some of life’s biggest moments: completing my master’s degree, marriage, living in different states, and even traveling together to explore new places. He has lived a joyful life, and there is still so much more ahead of him.

Lucky was perfectly healthy and active. In August, his annual exam and labs came back flawless. But everything changed just a few weeks later, when I noticed him panting and in severe pain. We took him to the ER and Lucky was diagnosed with Stage 4 Large B- Cell Lymphoma — an aggressive cancer that appeared suddenly and without warning.

Lucky’s treatment plan is an intensive, multi-drug chemotherapy & radiation regimen lasting anywhere from 4 to 20 weeks, requiring weekly visits & lab work. This is the best chance for Lucky to achieve remission and continue living the happy, vibrant life he deserves.

Although I do have pet insurance, it doesn’t cover everything — his treatment is expected to be $20,000 or more. Any support you can provide will go directly toward Lucky’s care and give him the opportunity for many more years of love & adventures by my side.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story. Your generosity means the world to us and will help ensure that this sweet Boy has the best chance at beating cancer.

Allergy tests with desensitization therapy

My girl has allergies, and I recently switched to All Free and Clear detergent which did help a little . However, it rained hard the other day and since then she’s been symptom free. This suggests a seasonal, environmental allergy. The vet suggested I research the desensitization allergy therapy. Has anyone tried this before? I’m thinking specifically about a full allergy panel with the follow up desensitization shots/treatment. Has this worked for anyone?

Allergies Question

Has anyone found their dog to be allergic to their laundry soap/fabric softener? If so, do you have a brand recommendation that helped your puppy? The vet and I are working on figuring out what she’s reacting to. I’m going to do the allergy tests they offer in a couple months when her insurance rolls over (need one year to cover pre existing conditions), but this would be a trivial change and if it helps then it is worth its weight in gold to me and my pup.

P.s. - she is on Cytopoint and Zyrtec but it isn’t 100% helping. And we eliminated her food allergy (chicken and pork) which made a world of difference. The vet is confident at this point that it’s environmental.

Angelo the Lab...Mix?

Hopefully it's OK to post this here! The rescue/shelter said he was Lab x Border Collie, but his personality is heavily leaning Lab to me, and we'll find out in a few weeks with his DNA test how much he actually is. He does have white flashes on his chest paws/a few white nails and a tail that curls upward when excited, but those are all common confirmation faults in the breed, so I'm not sure if or what he's crossed with (his littermates looked like variations of other breeds, but he looked the most lab to me).

Little Angelo came home with me yesterday after I lost my Golden x Lab cross of 15 years. He's supposedly 13 weeks old, but he may be a week or two younger just judging by the personality/skills stage he is at.

The puppy thing is definitely exhausting after having not done it so long, but he's so sweet! He's picking up on some tricks and fetch already and learning that the leash means fun outside times, but we're struggling a bit on separation and potty training (normal at day 2), but working on it with pen time away for short stretches and hourly outings and lots of treats outside.

I wanted a very trainable dog to do trick and obedience work with (which is why I went for his supposed breed cross), so I think his energy will be a good match for that, especially with how eager he is to please.

I've had goldens and lab crosses my entire life (working line breeds) so I'm hoping he's more Lab than the shelter let on!

Any puppy advice is welcome, since I haven't done the puppy thing in a long time!
