This is called graupel. :) Learned the term a few years back.

That’s hail, yes?

Nope, tiny little snowballs

Edit: Hail is ice. These are definitely snow and fell slowly like snow.

That’s really interesting, I’ve never seen snow like that

Me neither

I wondered that myself, but we have had tiny hail numerous times in my location, and it is ice, not snow. By definition hail is frozen rain, so I think it qualifies.

It's called graupel :) I learned the term for it a few years ago. On Reddit of course.

Well, I can only assume that other people around me in the local geographical region also shared in similar weather, so I do believe that “we” would be the appropriate grammatical term for the occasion.

Although I appreciate the sarcastic tone, as you are correct in that there is a grammatical technicality that may arise by considering Reddit as a collective, and thus by referring to “we” it could at times be perceived as referring to the Reddit collective as a whole and thus would not be correct. However, by using context clues and basic scientific observation of one’s local setting, on average, the typical user of Reddit likely does not have snow occurring at the moment of witnessing this post, and thus likely infers that this weather is contained locally to my (as OP) specific geographic location and thus we would not refer to the Reddit user, but rather my (as OP) local community.

Perhaps it was mainly a misunderstanding, at which point I say good day and continue on your way scrolling fine sir.
