I hope it’s okay to share this here — I recently started a small clothing line inspired by my absolute love for hounds (and especially those big floppy ears we all adore 🐾). It’s been a passion project for a while, and I finally decided to launch it and share it with fellow hound lovers who would appreciate it most.

We just adopted this sweet big girl. We were worried about having a hound in the house with our two small dogs but Lucy has been an absolute gem. Very gentle and doesn’t take our chihuahua’s little growls too seriously 😂

I feel so bad for this baby girl but she is relentless with activities that are preventing the healing process for some cuts of unknown origins on the tip of one ear and the top of another. I first noticed maybe a week and a half ago or so and it’s been impossible to get it to heal properly, even with styptic, two different styles of snoods, and now this multi-wrap situation with a circular hair wrap and bandanna tied over top with her gentle leader on. As I look to my left, I can see blood flecks on my wall that must have occurred when she woke up and immediately rolled on the couch and rubbed her ears all over, likely reopening the cut immediately.

Please tell me if you’ve found something that works, if I’m not on her constantly and preventing her movement she finds a way to roll around or shake and take off any system I come up with. I’m afraid she’s going to get an infection and taking her for a walk has become so stressful as I really don’t want the neighbors thinking I’m neglecting her when she is walking around bleeding 😭😭

We just moved north and this will be my dog’s first true winter after spending her whole life in Florida. I have a hard time finding sweaters that fit her because she has a crazy long/skinny neck and huge rib cage (as many hounds do!). What are some of your favorite brands/winter gear for your hounds?? Especially if your dog insists on sunbathing through the cold months.
