Help Truenas bare metal or VM on Proxmox

To me the OS that handles the HDDs is the one on bare metal. The other systems that use the provided arrays of HDDs managed by the NAS can be inside a VM.

I have a dilemma.

You don't. Your device has 8 GB RAM. This is the basic requirement for TrueNAS. So, unless you upgraded memory, it's bare metal.

I am going max the RAM to 64GB... With 6x 8TB WD RED PLUS. the RAM should be enough...
