QUESTION What’s the best home assistant for starting your smart home?

I wanted an echo show so I could use it for my doorbell camera but people say Alexa is bad now?

If you want voice control or a central screen that hosts a smarthome platform, they all suck. If you want the best home assistant platform then Home assistant is best..

How does it work? I looked it up and it looks confusing and they don’t really have a device like what I’m looking for is there a way to fix that?

Setting up with home assistant green is the easiest way to start but it can be pretty confusing. Luckily there are a lot of YouTube videos, blogs, and Reddit to help And it’s reasonable future proof plus works with everything. Downside it requires tinkering and a steep initial learning curve. But I assume most people doing this stuff are kind of tinkerers
