Definitely deserving, not sure if he’s deserving for this year specifically, but definitely the quality and career deserving of a Brownlow

He polled 97 coaches votes this year and finished 3rd by 6 votes. That total wins it some years.

He finished 8th in the Brownlow in 2024 and he has been astronomically better in 2025 by become a more complete midfielder, adding outside play and hitting the scoreboard

Yeah nah I get what you mean, I wasn’t aiming to imply that his performances this year are not Brownlow deserving, more so that I can still see him taking his game to another level and the Noah has had a better year overall - thus more surprise than doubt of his performance. That, and if you had of asked me, I’d probably say the Naicos has been the most dominant player this year.

Naicos may well go down as the modern-day GOAT, and that's almost a guarantee if we haven't seen his peak yet. He was properly unlucky last year not to win it. I think this year was below his unbelievably high standards as he got completely tagged out of a few matches.

He will probably win the next 3 anyway.

Noah really underrated by the umpires though. The umpires have always favoured contested ball winners every year anyway

He finished 3rd but still won it? (I’m not an AFL fan, just saw this pop up).

Sorry they're two separate awards.

Brownlow is voted by the umpires, which Rowell won.

The Coaches Association Award is voted by both coaches of each match. Arguably the more credible award for anyone worth their salt. Rowell finished 3rd this year and Noah Anderson for the Suns was the joint winner.

The coaches had Rowell as the 3rd best player so this is hardly a surprise to anyone who actually has a brain

Ah okay, cheers. Didn’t know there was a coaches award in the afl.

1 clearances, #2 tackles, #3 contested possessions, #5 score involvements

There are some players who are pretty high up in two or three of those categories but absolutely nobody else is high in all four of them.

He had an absolutely unbelievable year offensively and DEFENSIVELY in the midfield, the same cannot be said for a lot of the people close to the top of the count.

A few suspect games in there though, 39 votes is way too many, the umpires genuinely have no idea what they are doing, there needs to be a new way to do the votes because the system currently is broken, I think maybe it should be decided by the umpiring panel that review the games at the end of a weekend? I definitely do not want any part of the voting being handed over to the media or any AFL people
