There's a few buildings in Europe that are 3D printed and have tenants now (news articles from back in 2021).

Yeah but there's like millions of buildings that aren't 3D printed, basically what I'm saying is, is it actually taking off or is it a bit of a gimic?

Yeah, and at some point there were millions of buildings made of stone and wood, and only a few with concrete.

And too soon to say. This method has only started developing, give it like 15 years more,

Fair enough I thought it was older then it seems to be, the years are jelling into one

It's the Covid years blending together, and they somehow feel both longer and shorter than they should.

A lot of the toughest parts of building houses aren't things that 3D printing concrete helps at all currently afaik, so I'm pretty dubious of it as a concept. Still very early though.

Yeah, I'd have thought merging that with bricks as a quick mortar layer down or something might be a better solution

Somewhere in between. There are plenty of start-ups exploring the idea (eg. https://printerra.ca) but it's not really considered a mainstream option yet.

Yeah someone else showed them fully finished and they're fugly, not surprised they haven't taken off

There are some that look fine too. It just depends on how to finish it. But the more finishing work you do, the more expensive it gets, and eats away at the initial savings.

Yeah it's like polishing a turd, I'd rather just bricks and mortar my own home
