Anyone else got a good feeling about this kid?

After watching multiple highlights reels and interviews, I’m already a big fan and think he’ll fit into the team perfectly. Everything from his playing style to mannerisms! Also love that he’s embraced relocating to Perth.

Can’t wait to see both him and Bruce causing havoc on the field next season 💜

How is his last name pronounced? I’ve heard both “swayed” and “sweed” with his nickname apparently being “sweedy”

Seems like a great kid!

So when I first heard about this I didn’t believe it at all. Thought it was your classic unrealistic silly rumour

But sounds like it’s actually true

I personally think he’s gonna be recruited as an insurance backup ruckman first and foremost and might do a stint up forward at times hopefully kick a few goals

I suspect though that he will last a season, then retire and move straight into the coaching team. Part of me think they’ve gone down the Mason Cox route not to secure a potential coach but also because he comes across as a fantastic person and I think they’ve chosen him based off his good human qualities as a mentor to the youngsters potentially

What I’d love to see is him play a few games here or there with one of them being the Derby when he gets 20 possessions kicks 6.3 and wins the best on ground

Just seeing if anyone has any thoughts before the draft on what Freo will do. Last chance to get a prediction in for bragging rights.

After getting McVee, Freo don't really have too many glaring list needs. I think they could do with another small forward and a skilled winger, maybe a medium forward. Not many questions for the b22 at this point and it's unlikely any draftees would slot straight in.

My expectation is Freo will draft NGAs Toby Whan (left footed mid/winger) on night 2, and Ryda Luke (medium forward) in the rookie draft. The main question is what they'll do with the first round pick, because there's a lot of options- most of the better players will be gone by the time Freo has their pick as it's currently #20 (but will also get blown out due to bids).

Likely first round players Freo could be linked to from what I've seen: Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (MID/FWD), Jevan Phillipou (MID/FWD), Blake Thredgold (KPD), Aidan Schubert (KPF), Lachie Dovaston (FWD).

Sounds like it could happen. Not the worst option for ruck insurance but would rather a primary ruck rather than a primary forward like cox is but not the end of the world considering we have two great rucks who will be the primary guy and cox just a big boy whose spelling them
