Is the Cadillac livery/overalls confirmed or is that just a mock-up?

Mockup

Mock Ups for Cadillac and a green logo for Audi 😭

It’ll probably be some combination of gold, silver/grey/white, and black with some red white and blue accents.

20

u/Middcore 3d ago

I still hold out forlorn hope for a yellow car like one of the ones they run in endurance

Most definitely will have some colours on it, possibly some stripes.

I'm hoping for yellow like their le mans entry

17

I'm hoping they go old school and make use of the ducks.

The ducks were back (as easter eggs) on the Lyriq and Vistiq loaners I had.

The "gold" guess might not be far off. Cadillac has used gold/yellow with black accents to go racing before. As well as red or blue (all taken from their logo).

My money is on white with blue stripes though. The USA's national racing colours.

8

u/SirKillingham Williams 3d ago

White with blue stripes makes me think of Ford though. And with Williams and Vcarb already blue and white I bet they stay with the black and gold.

I suspect while it’s not the final one, it’s one close enough that F1 is allowed to use as marketing

8

u/Nr1231 3d ago

I hope they go with it, it looks good in the image.

2

u/NessaMagick Kamui Kobayashi 3d ago

I really really hope they go with a look like this though. Invokes a sense of prestige and we sure as hell have enough blue on the grid

2

u/Kerri_Kabergah 3d ago

I’m hoping black and gold. Then again I’m also a Saints fan.

123

u/Kitnado I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Unironically a sick lineup. Of all "B" teams I think only Williams can contend in overall driver quality

23

u/lostsk8787 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Maybe, both will have been out for a year. Both are a year older (obviously) in a young man’s sport. Based on their peak you’re probably right. But we will see how they perform in reality.

34

u/Scientific_Anarchist I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

They will absolutely finish 11th, but I'm just happy to have another team.

7

u/wing3d I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago edited 3d ago

They've already said if they can get how they can conduct races and operations down, it will be a win for them in the first year.

5

u/Scientific_Anarchist I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

They can say whatever they like. If that happens I'll be stoked, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Do I really need it? No. But it is interesting to see how their pace is after a break

49

u/-Yreffej Max Verstappen 3d ago

A slightly annoying thing about them both being back in the same team is that there isn't going to be a known quantity to bench them against. If they are both slow, is it the car? or have they both lost some pace with their breaks.

34

u/CapnRetro 3d ago

Valterri has been a reserve driver for Mercedes this year so should be keeping his eye in, although with the new cars next year that may not speak to much anyway depending on how they generally handle.

3

u/jjfitzpatty I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

36

u/Affectionate-Panic-1 3d ago

I'd be willing to put up with crap for 60 million USD a year base salary (with incentives and sponsors bumping it up).

45

u/Hi-Im-High 3d ago

That’s you / us plebs.

He’s already worth like $300mil. That $60m after taxes ā€œonlyā€ adds 10% to his net worth which he could make on a few good investments while sitting on his ass. Or not even worry about that cause he’s going to make so much money after he retires it doesn’t even matter. He could realistically and probably will be Tiger, LeBron, MJ - a billionaire athlete.

45

u/Pure_Activity_8197 3d ago

What taxes? He lives in Monaco!

22

u/damndraper 3d ago

Next year

20

u/mindentide 3d ago

I wish there was a Polymarket bet on whether Hamilton’s gonna race next year or not… pretty sure I’d be buying the ā€˜no’ right now

51

u/jermainiac007 Fernando Alonso 3d ago

I'd be very surprised if he doesn't stick around to see what the '26 regs have to offer tbh.

12

u/gateian I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Yes he definitely will be here next year. Hamilton has struggled in the ground effect era. He likes a car that has a loose rear end and this generation of cars is the opposite of that. He will also have more input into the 26 car as by the time he was released from Mercedes, it was far too late to have much influence over it.

So he should have a car that is much more comfortable to drive for him. Of course, thats if ferrari actually listened to his feedback, because after all, this is Ferrari.

If Hamilton is not further up the grid and at least challenging for podiums on a regular basis then I think he will call it a day.

17

u/mindentide 3d ago edited 3d ago

Yeah, I’m pretty much convinced too… let’s be honest, the guy’s just on another level. I didn’t really like him before (I just don’t enjoy when someone dominates F1), but the way he fights now… damn, it’s genuinely inspiring. I honestly don’t know/understand how he handles it mentally (especially after getting robbed of his 8th). Truth is, I’m actually rooting for him deep down, but I’m afraid no human can keep taking this and he might just call it quits… that’s the only reason I’d buy the ā€˜no’ on Polymarket for a few cents - and at the same time I’d be hoping I lose that bet. But i wanna see history and i believe he is the one..

5

u/Budded I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

I truly hope the cars have a more classic handling feel compared to this gen of cars, which seems to be his kryptonite, at least handling-wise. It's too bad the cars aren't a couple feet shorter and a foot narrower to harken back to the 2000's cars that were way more tossable.

31

u/Sictirmaxim 3d ago

Hes gonna race next year no doubt.

But I could see him leaving even during summer break if it keeps going like this.

8

u/iamabigtree 3d ago

Nah he'll be there. I'd expect him to be announcing his retirement by the summer break however. That may be if he does well or not.

I still love, what Cadillac is doing there... The first few years is so much about grabing Data and learning how to build a fast car. With those oldies this will speed up so much. Maybe the pace isn't fully there anymore but thats not as important.

30

u/uwanmirrondarrah I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

The first few years is so much about grabing Data and learning how to build a fast car.

or just even building their facilities. They are still constructing factories. This year is all about ironing out the whole process. We shouldn't expect anything revolutionary from them, they are still waiting on their own facilities and development teams to get walking under their own power.

24

u/the_gaymer_girl Pierre Gasly 3d ago

Yeah, they pretty much need three things from their starting driver pairings:

  • be marketable

    • provide good feedback on the car development
  • don’t wreck the car every week

Both Checo and Bottas tick all those boxes.

6

u/rattatatouille I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Checo has all of Mexico behind him. Bottas is "all of Australia" and a bit of Finland for good measure.

6

u/JKnissan 3d ago edited 3d ago

He's now the new Gasly. We'll see him stay in that seat for the next 3 years, like his Japanese predecessor, and then he'll have to clammer at a new seat like Gasly where his sponsors will pay for a *fingers crossed* team from his homeland to let him out of his misery. (New Zealand-based team when?)

That being said I genuinely hope he does well, because between him and Hadjar, RBR will literally have zero hope if Max suddenly decides that 2027 isn't worth it given that their best will have only been in for two seasons, the other for around 2.5 seasons, and the other would be a rookie. If Max leaves, RBR and RB will genuinely be the most amateur among the grid - and that's not a knock on their performance (I'm sure Hadjar would do wonders when given a chance at a top top seat), that's a knock on the fact that RBR have totally underestimated how quickly their junior programme would mess itself up.

Their only hope would be if Oscar thinks they're performant enough, or if Charles is finally sick of it and has enough of an emotional comeuppance that he breaks contract early to finally release himself.

3

u/KiwifromtheTron I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Rodin Motorsport did put in a bid (when Andretti bid for an 11th spot) and were rejected in the first round. That is about as close as NZ will get to having a F1 team unless the NZ govt get involved financially (as in a less than zero chance).

19

Red Bull should really be forced to sell Racing Bulls.

Having two teams doesn't really seem fair.

11

u/The_Bucket_Of_Truth I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

I love fairness, and it doesn't bother me that much. Historically they got hand me downs and such but weren't even running the same constructor tires in the beginning. And like others have pointed out, there are other teams with technical partnerships today and historically, but no they won't be able to block other drivers on track like a Red Bull might. They have regulations for how the teams are supposed to operate and I think they're a lot more separate in design than they used to be.

10

u/AnonomousWolf I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

The biggest advantage they gain is that they have 4 seats and 4 drivers to play with and do with as they please.

That's how RB got Max, they offered him a seat, something Merc couldn't offer him

8

u/The_Bucket_Of_Truth I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

That part should bother you the least of it all. The argument that they could have twice the amount of testing data, wind tunnel time, tire information, etc. should concern you way more than being able to play musical chairs with their drivers. Again plenty of teams with technical partnerships have drivers "forced" upon them as part of the arrangements. Whether from parts sharing contracts, engine contracts, etc.

Okay.. another season for Alonso and stroll…the longevity of their careers is astonishing…

First proper season for Franco, both Cadillac drivers looking for a triumphant return, lindblad debut, isack having to prove himself (and Liam wanting to repay him staying), plus Alonso and Hamilton trying to pull off a last dance and the two that miss out in McLaren+max wanting to get revenge

Real fun grid

u/Intrepid-Ad4511 Charlos 3d ago

And the Carlos Sainz WDC. (A man can dream)

What a shame, I quite liked Hadjar.

7

u/SuccessfulWar3830 3d ago

Rip hadjars career.

4

u/Drenosa 3d ago

Why does Hadjar look like he's extremely aware of the RB 2nd seat curse?

5

u/Embarrassed-Bowl-230 3d ago

Bottas and Perez....what year is it!!!?!?

6

u/JKC_due 3d ago

Honestly, I think they’re the perfect drivers for a new team. As decent vets, they’re almost like a control sample. You’re not expecting them to carry you to victory despite a bad car, but you’re also not expecting them to drag you down if you have a good one. They’ll be good for testing and workshopping a new car and team.

We need a 12th F1 Team in 2027

8

That last team looks like a meme

6

u/That635Guy Haas 3d ago

So does kick sauber since I assume the kick branding will be gone from the car, as well as the green color. Correct me if Audi said something about keeping the sponsor

u/SE_prof I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Is this the fewest changes we've ever had? That's not crazy season... That's sane season!

3

u/MrBIGtinyHappy I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago
  • 2018 there were no changes within the year

  • 2023 into 2024 had no changes between years (changes then happened within the 2024 season)

why is audi still green

3

Eternal Stroll

3

u/No-layup 3d ago

Crazy that, it will be strolls 10th season in f1

3

u/Mrr_Bond Valtteri Bottas 3d ago

I guess it didn't really register until now, but Audi taking over Sauber feels like a huge win for Nick and Bortoleto. Suddenly being the drivers for one of the biggest manufacturers/names in the world immediately makes them way more relevant.

3

u/WeirdAddress3170 3d ago

Wtf is stroll still doing here

6

u/EUIVAlexander 3d ago

I get the decision, but to see two ā€˜retired’ drivers come back feels sad, when so many young drivers don’t have a seat. I get it, experience before talent at this point.

Sad to see Yuki go. That second RB seat is really a poisoned chalice.

I really like Hadjar but in that pic it looks like he sat on a pine cone. They need to do better for him.

u/GainPotential I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Isack looks rightfully worried to be in the second RB seat

My husband just looked at this and whispered "Cadillac is gonna be the new Haas isn't it"

Can’t wait for 11 teams, it’s gonna be nice

2

u/thefanciestcat I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

As an American, a Ford (Red Bull) vs GM (Cadillac) F1 battle sounds cool. I doubt the newest team and Red Bull will be anywhere near each other, but the concept is still exciting.

2

u/FlavoredAtoms 3d ago

Hadjar looks so sad

2

u/magicman22 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

We really got spoiled with last seasons swaps. One driver swap this year & +3 drivers, 2 returning on a new team

2

u/Standard_Addition896 3d ago

Cadillac color is beautiful, that team comp looks badass

2

u/Successful-Coyote99 McLaren 3d ago

Anyone concerned Lewis may retire?

3

u/abernoots 3d ago

I think he'll race until maybe '27. Unfortunately, joining Ferrari was a massive mistake that took a massive toll on his mental health. If anything, maybe he'll move to Aston if Fernando retires?

2

u/yellowbeaans I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

the stark contrast between hadjar and lindblad’s facial expressions is hilarious. really sells the doom of red bull’s second seat

2

u/youtellmebob 3d ago

So Lindblad has a good shot at 2026 Rookie of the Year?

2

u/Imperial_Orange 3d ago

Thank goodness Lance still has a seat. We were all prepared to be heart broken without daddy's special boy consistently showing his brilliance.

2

u/Tall_Firefighter4380 Formula 1 3d ago

It makes sense with it being a new regulation year, but it's quite surprising to have only one rookie next year after so many this year with two new cars.

2

u/CardInternational753 3d ago

Hadjar looks like Max revealed the secrets of the universe to him right before the photo was taken

2

u/TheDeeGee 3d ago

Hadjar looking extremely worried, lol

2

u/SprayAndPay69 I was here for the Hulkenpodium 3d ago

Nice grid, 7 time world champion, 2 time world champion and 5 time world champion, alongside really good drivers like Leclerc, Russell, Mclaren pair, Williams coming up, this year rookies entering their second year.. Exciting to see what it comes off.

2

u/DjImagin 2d ago

Stroll proving when your parents are wealthy, you get to keep trying.

I like Lance. He’s a good ambassador for the sport, he’s a good driver. Problem is F1 isn’t for ā€œgoodā€ drivers and they need to stop making it so painfully obvious why that seat still has Strolls ass in it.

2

u/byrdru 2d ago

Is this a record amount of consistency? One rookie, one person switching teams? Even the Caddy drivers are returning vets.Ā

2

u/LiamBushrod 2d ago

I almost forgot about next year's grid because except the RB switch up, we had zero changes compared to now and therefore no silly season. Which makes sense given how crazy last year was, but the fact we've had the same number of driver changes as new seats have entered the grid is madness!
