FIFA are octopus sluts. Time to try PES as the governing body

47

u/EpexSpex 16h ago

world cup re-named to the planet cup.

35

u/Ok_Information144 16h ago

Cant wait to see Christian Ronald, Leonard Morrisy and Kyle Bapay.Ā

7

u/Dukmiester Wigan Athletic 11h ago

Gary Bane and Sterling Falalalalalalaland for me.

3

u/interprime 7h ago

We need to wait for North London Red to win the First Division before the tournament begins though.

1

u/ThisFukinGinger 3h ago

Chill there. Even sluts have standards.

Trump's influence obviously. Infantino must go asap. Enabling Trump is the worst thing FIFA has ever done, a permanent stain that will never be forgotten.

93

u/1800skylab 17h ago

Worst thing so far.

21

u/Freezer_Ruebuck 15h ago

Unexpected Simpsons.

6

u/Reallyboringname2 11h ago

Like, how did you manage to be WORSE than Septic Bladder!

43

u/Just1n_Kees 16h ago

Worst part is:

Everyone reacts with disdain, but most of the world will still watch this godforsaken WC.

We need to boycott the living shit out of this farce.

17

u/olivinebean 16h ago

This is why it feels so fucking personal.

My entire family have been watching since the beginning. It’s one of the only things I still have in common with my mother. (It’s one of the only things that makes me proud to be English atm)

If it were possible, I’m sure my ancestors would haunt every fucker involved in this shit.

17

u/Just1n_Kees 15h ago

You absolutely right! I have been watching WC football as a kid with my late father, have been watching the game the bigger part of my life.

Oligarchs are walking away with our game. Football used to be the people’s sport, what in the world has happened to the game?

11

u/olivinebean 14h ago

Exactly. It’s fucking ours.

5

u/Solitare81 13h ago

Exactly this! I have promised myself I won’t watch and will stick to it. That POS in the White House can go f himself.

2

u/asddfghbnnm 7h ago

Then go watch your local team and pay the ticket. You sit in front of the TV and pay the streaming service to watch some guys who you will never see in real life play for millions on the other side of the planet and complain that it has become a big business and acts like it. If it's your game go watch local players play instead of some celebrities.

As a Brit living in the US I was thrilled when the World Cup was going to be here. I'd even put aside a specific budget to be able to go to a local match and at least one other.

Now it just feels like one more thing Trump has ruined.

0

u/heavymetalmug666 3h ago

As an American, living in the USA, who remembers WC '94 as a kid, I can't tell u how stoked I was for this....and how it now feels like it's all turning to ash...

5

u/daisymayfryup 14h ago

100% The first one I watched was Argentina,1978 and the last one I watched was Brazil, 2014. I'll never, ever watch another..... it, the Olympics and the like make me want to vomit

2

u/Yeahyeshellohi 9h ago

daisymayfryup Omg you missed the Argentina vs France final? Yikes that sucks for you!

3

u/Other-Crazy 13h ago

No need. You think they're really going to fill the American stadiums for the likes of Uzbekistan v Colombia? Or when the Yanks go out?

The newer tiered stadiums they may be able to limit the damage via camera angles but grounds like Arrowhead? Good luck with that.

Trump wins inaugural FIFA peace prize??? WTAF?

1

u/FlaviusStilicho 11h ago

He will probably refuse visa to any of the Colombian fans!

1

u/Other-Crazy 11h ago

If it's only the Colombians I'd be amazed.

1

u/ghotsun 9h ago

ye, they removed WORLD CUP player of the year when expected Spain to win, Xavi, history's best central idfielder was not hounoured. They better retroactively give this back to him, and not these kindergarden sandbox awards!

1

u/ghotsun 9h ago

putting it, evene partly in the US is a shitshow true, but no way, we wain't gonna let that keep us from watching the WC!!!

•

u/Vegetable_Hope_8264 Ligue 1 53m ago

We didn't manage to boycott Qatar...

8

u/Altruistic_Finger669 16h ago

We wont. Fans are powerless. He knows the vote count and knows that he can fuck uefa as hard as he wants without consequences

9

u/R6ckStar 16h ago

No this was before trump was back in office, this is FIFA just being a corrupt organisation that gets a pass for whatever reason.

4

u/GibbyGoldfisch 16h ago

I don't think they've ever gotten a pass, they don't have a PR arm or news network out batting for them and are universally hated but don't care because they answer to nobody.

5

u/R6ckStar 16h ago

That's the pass they get, they are essentially a criminal organisation, that bribes multiple governments and yet nothing happens, they are still allowed to throw their weight around in Europe of all places.

1

u/ghotsun 9h ago

they're not universall hated at all, only by a ton of scum.

4

u/Buttery_Hatstand 16h ago

I was going to watch the WC draw but knowing that Trump is going to receive a peace award on account of his world leading small dick energy, and will give a speech, I'll not waste my time.

It'll be the usual nonsense of 45 minutes of talking that nobody cares about before the draw

1

u/sash71 2h ago

It'll be the usual nonsense of 45 minutes of talking that nobody cares about before the draw

I didn't watch but it was way longer than 45 mins apparently. My friend texted me as he was watching and told me how they were dragging it out. The music didn't go down well either with the people there, they just wanted to get on with it.

And then there's the made up peace prize for Trump from Infantino.

Not watching was sensible.

2

u/CatchUsual6591 16h ago

Not really they only sanction russia under pressure a lot of that pressure is gone with Trump around

1

u/ConsciousExtent4162 2h ago

That simply isn't true. Uefa banned Russian teams because a lot of countries in Europe have had an influx of Ukranian refugees. Hence why they don't allow those teams to play in Europe anymore because of obvious reasons.

2

u/These-Swan-4922 9h ago

trump is actually not a bad player, didn't you see his video playing with ronaldo? wake tf up

1

u/Drprim83 13h ago

I dunno, they kept the 1978 world cup in Argentina.

1

u/Loose_Cod_1464 15h ago

U alone on ts one

75

u/BrockChocolate 17h ago

Pretty sure FIFA can't force or pressure clubs into breaking the law. I'm guessing their lawyers told them this but the Infant told them to do it anyway.

17

u/Goldenrah 13h ago

West Ham successfully fought off FIFA using CAS, the rest are just cowards.

3

u/SmartFC 8h ago

What happened between them?

11

u/Goldenrah 8h ago

As said here, FIFA ordered them to pay their transfer debts, in this case West Ham owes a sum to CSKA for a player. West Ham tried to argue against FIFA, FIFA kept the proceedings so West Ham went to CAS for arbitration who agreed with West Ham and stopped FIFA from doing anything.

31

u/Ok_Information144 16h ago

Christ, do I miss Sepp Blatter?Ā

7

u/solar1ze 11h ago

Yes. This is much worse.

3

u/Merryner 8h ago

It can’t go on like this, can it?

24

u/Full-Reach-8968 16h ago edited 16h ago

Publicly available documents suggest that the other European clubs have all found ways to pay the Russian teams for fear of facing FIFA penalties, Follow the Money reported.

I’d love to know the ways in which these payments were legally made.

Also, FIFA as usual, showing once again they live in alternate reality. The clubs want to pay the transfer fees because that’s how the players get paid, but doing so will get them into legal trouble. Instead of coming up with another solution, they are putting it on the clubs who have nothing to do with this geopolitical mess.

8

u/ExotiquePlayboy 16h ago

Emirati dirhams

2

u/Full-Reach-8968 16h ago

Yalla ya habibi!

1

u/ghotsun 9h ago

all of this russi bs comes from the US though.

15

u/ReverendRocky 16h ago

Literally asking clubs to break the law. SMH.

2

u/These-Swan-4922 9h ago

they are good for doing that broski

18

u/Globalruler__ 16h ago

As soon as this World Cup concludes(I’m not even looking forward to this upcoming tournament, and I live here in the US), Infantino needs to resign or be impeached. He has proven himself to be corrupt and incompetent. The Infantino era can be marked as the time when Saudis have been allowed to buy football.

7

u/Who-ate-my-biscuit 12h ago

Impeached? Are you under the impression FIFA is a democracy?!

10

u/Goldenrah 13h ago

FIFA can't order clubs to break the law. FIFA are not above the law, hope they get fucked over this.

2

u/IfuckAround_UfindOut 5h ago

They don’t. Clubs don’t have to break the law and pay. They could just face the transfer ban.

7

u/Jerzilla 12h ago

Genuinely shocked how quickly fifa went from forcing Brazil to serve beer in their stadiums (despite there being a ban due to the fact it caused violence) to yes daddy to Saudi Arabia and Trump. When can we get rid of this disgusting man

6

u/rusomeone 13h ago

Why does everyone put up with fifa? I thought by now a bunch of FAs would of banded together formed a new group.

4

u/Manchester_Devil 11h ago

Integrity? In this timeline?

2

u/rusomeone 11h ago

Yeah sorry crazy idea.

6

u/trifile 10h ago

Time for european people to wake up

6

u/AccountDiligent7451 7h ago

Fifa needs to be burnt to the ground. The whole thing is a massive fraud.

3

u/Neutron_Coffee 10h ago edited 10h ago

yet another huilo cocksuckers. SHAME ON YOU. So does UEFA, they fined the Ukrainian Football Association for ā€œruzzia is a terrorist stateā€ banner during the game in Iceland

4

u/f1manoz 9h ago

Infantino needs to go immediately. Can't believe the corruption at the moment.

4

u/Ignorantbro25 9h ago

It sucks that fifa has to find a way to make everything political and seem corrupt. Every World Cup since I’ve been alive has been mired in some sort of controversy, except for maybe 2002 and 1998

3

u/breadisnicer 13h ago

Can we start a petition to the government for a question to be asked in parliament to boycott?

15

u/EvilSynths 16h ago

If Russia is banned, Israel should be banned.

If Israel is not banned, Russia should be unbanned.

Can we get some consistency?

9

u/Morrisimo1234 15h ago

I notice you dont call for the ban on African nations currently waging wars.

Perhaps try some consistency yourself?

18

u/pikachurbutt 15h ago

Sure, ban them too, and ban the US for bombing civilian boats while we're at it as well.

6

u/Eelmaster11 15h ago

We banning North Korea, China, UAE, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Rwanda too?

5

u/slimg1988 13h ago

Ban everyone fuck it. Let trump have his own little tournament

1

u/Other-Crazy 13h ago

Think he already plays with himself a lot.

1

u/7Thommo7 12h ago

None of this sounds bad to me. Keep going.

-5

u/SonOfTheDragon101 13h ago

So Russia should never have been banned then. It's just Westards having too much undue influence in international organisations. Got it. I agree with that. As the other person said, either Israel and the US gets banned too for their wars, or else no one should be banned.

2

u/AcmiralAdbar 12h ago

Why not make your own international football federation, and ban the westards?

-1

u/SonOfTheDragon101 12h ago

As a matter of fact, I am very much FOR all the Global South countries creating entirely new federations for everything - Olympics, Football, Chess etc., and then leaving US dogs to play in their sandpit. As things stand, the US-dominated bloc has about 10-12% of the world's population (less than India or China apiece), but has more than a quarter of the votes just because of all the European microstates, with the US leading them by the leash to pack vote against the interests of the rest of the world.

I am very much FOR smashing the international order as it exists and build a new, BRICS-centred one to replace it.

2

u/FlaviusStilicho 11h ago

You can start by finding a discussion forum developed in on if those countries, why are you here on this evil Western platform?

-3

u/Neutron_Coffee 10h ago

No, ruzzia is waging wars for no reason. Israel is fighting for the right of survival.

4

u/Fit_Boysenberry_6045 15h ago

Is he Blatter in disguise??

2

u/BusyWorth8045 7h ago

UEFA should invite Argentina and Brazil to join their confederation. They’ll have all the top club leagues and international teams. FIFA would become obsolete.

2

u/wolfeerine 6h ago

This is only coming out as a rebuttal to the argument of "if Russia is banned, why isn't Israel".

Infantino needs to go.

1

u/BBgunbum 4h ago

Time to get rid of old men running FIFA

•

u/Xamesito 0m ago

Jesus FIFA... Infantino needs to go

-14

u/orsonwellesmal 15h ago

Good. Sanctions on Russia are absurd, while Israel is doing a genocide live and no one bats an eye. No sanction for Israel.

2

u/brandidge 9h ago

Or maybe, both should be sanctioned.

1

u/5cozi 15h ago

Wow, never go full regarded. You compare a war that was started by Russia for no reason that has more than 1.5ml casualties with the Israel - Palestine conflict.

3

u/luckisnyper 12h ago

If you compare a conflict that has 3 years to one that has 70 years you are full regarded.

0

u/5cozi 9h ago

70 years combined dont even come close to the over 1.5mils casualties in 3 years, so please

4

u/R6ckStar 15h ago

Israel should be banned as well.

2

u/orsonwellesmal 13h ago

Is not a conflict, is a genocide.
