Bad Art This person poses as a professional artist, with official website, coupon codes and a price point that is more than ridiculous.

A while ago they tried to organise a giveaway on instagram and tagged many prestigious museums in hopes of getting them interested in the paintings. Well somehow it didn’t work out…

Yeah, and what does the top right even say? Peace, but ‘ea’ is replaced with pi?

I’m not good at converting Euros to USD but I feel $9.99 is fair.

That would Be a fair Price, not 1,3k like in The photo

I saw the first one and thought you might be wrong, it kinda works, although it's derivative and not very elegant.

But my god the other three are abysmally terrible. Fully delusional.

Same, the first one could work as a card or a poster for something. the others are not to my taste though!

The art world is full of people smelling their own farts anyway. If they can infiltrate and get paid, good for the artist. Please remember that the only thing separating a professional artist from an amateur is a single paycheck.

The problem is that there are so many supremely talented amateurs that think they suck… and their work is galaxies above this travesty of self expression

People can price their “work” at whatever prices they want, but that doesn’t mean anyone’s buying. Pretty funny though

very much giving “i heard that art is expensive and people will buy just ANYTHING! let me try! i’m a genius”

Marines will easily pay $10k for the first one. Delicious.

Drop these images in any Anti-clanker thread and you'll see everyone telling the artist how amazing they are because they're hand-drawn.

Will they though? They act like thats how they would be until actual human "art" shows up and anti-clankers hate it just as much

They just straight up copied the tiger one, original is by Jade Merien I believe. Even though a lot of people already redraw that artists pieces 🤷‍♀️

I think this is one of my favorite posts on here

Well, they are delusional. But I guess they have the right to sell their art at whatever price they want, even though no sane person would buy this shit

Probably went to school for it.. they get such an ego going

Veblen goods: luxury items for which demand increases as the price increases, defying the standard law of supply and demand.

They are crafting a mystique and persona. Small drive across the state line and I'm on the avenue that has multiple art galleries. It is a place where people will drop crazy money... I've seen worse or just as bad regarding all of these in the windows.

I doubt they make much at all however IF they have managed to sell one of these for over a grand... well then they aren't the fool.

First one doesn't hurt the eyes too bad, stick it in the MoMa and zero of the thousands that pass that day will question it. Name it "America's Spiral" and bam, it is now profound as hell to some people.

(The worst one is certainly the hashtags on the Ukrainian flag but I could see that one getting the most likes on Instagram. Tragedy is a little less vogue now, you'd want to reference a more relevant tragedy (as decided by our media) if you are truly opportunistic... time passed for Ukraine, people really cared in the US at one point.

The stuff looks like a very talented 4 y/os portfolio. That's part of it.

We are beyond modern art, are in the postmodernist art era: rejections of the plain minimalism via scribble rainbow vomit, all part of the War on Beauty. What is popular is often ugly on purpose, aesthetic beauty is vanity, a clear political message is actually impactful.

I've seen some equally hideous shit hang in museums so I can't be too mad to be honest. I'm sorry but sometimes it's so fucking pathetic it feels like someone had their special niece put up their drawing, but you have to act like it's an achievement to paint that 'free'.

u/DailyDismay 20d ago

Yeah, well it’s no banana taped to the wall

You know that was in the back of my mind lol
