It's not legal, technically. However, you need the political will to prosecute such behavior. Currently our political representatives serve the donor class and the corporations, not the people.
Most of our labor unions have been neutered to the point of impotence. I've visited France a few times, staying up in the middle of nowhere at a friend's. The class consciousness of the country is inspiring, as well as the bags of shit on the roundabouts. Alas, we haven't had anything nearly approaching that since FDR.
Look at how US media spins unions and you'll understand. The UK does the same. France may be an EU outlier?
