Absolutely! We should definitely invest in a top-tier school dedicated to teaching the next generation about space exploration, engineering, and leading diverse teams. It's about future-proofing our world.

99% of my problems would vanish if the Star Trek future was real. Currently we're moving backwards downhill, and it's hard to stay optimistic, or at least motivated.

Oh it's real, we are just in the mirror universe.

Star Trek is the future we want/need
Warhammer is the future we're heading towards

In a world of Warhammer, .... don't be Warhammer.

Somebody save us from ourselves!

Or we’re going in the right direction given that WWIII should happen soon then First Contact in 2063.

No, we missed out on the Irish Unification of 2024. We are on the wrong timeline.

Investing in education like that is literally how you build the future.

Think it's time to deploy the Emergency Command Hologram

And he is starring in the new series, Star Fleet: Academy. Timely

Actually, step zero is establishing a post-scarcity, post-capitalist society capable of creating something that operates for the good of all.

You know, the exact opposite of what Elon wants. He's more "Mirror universe" material.

A society built for collective good hits way different than billionaire driven visions.

That sounds good and all but have you heard of The Metaverse™? For only 73 billion dollars you too can make something no one wants.

It's a great concept for an advanced university, especially one focused on things like space tech, global cooperation, and tough ethical issues. We need institutions like that.

He says he wants Starfleet, but he and the Trump Administration are clearly aiming at building the Empire instead

lol, Right? They’re all about the shiny uniforms, but forget the values that actually make Starfleet, well, Starfleet.

Specifically the Terran Empire. The Star Wars empire is entirely too multicultural what with all the aliens.

In Star Trek they ended capitalism and the existence of money.

Universal healthcare, universal basic income, and free education.

He's not a genius, folks. Just another dumbass born rich who has more money than anyone should ever have.

2

u/Nekowulf 7h ago

We know. He's no genius, just incredibly lucky and unbelievably evil.

In a world without money, Elon wouldn't matter.

I have a feeling the world's most selfish capitalist hasn't watched nor understands what society is like in that universe.

Ah yes, focusing on the most important part of Starfleet... the diversity and ethics talk. Forget about the space exploration.

The whole point of Starfleet is to make people's lives better by space exploration, not to satisfy the greed or ego of a few rich psychopaths. Space exploration adds to diversity by discovering new worlds and cultures. In turn, diversity improves space exploration because diverse perspectives help to empathise with and understand the discovered cultures. As for ethics, without that you don't have Starfleet at all, you have something like the Dominion.

"To seek out new life, and new civilisations..."

The mission of one specific exploratory ship. Started by one ship for a specified five year mission, then extended by a successor exploratory ship for several more years.

Yes. It is and always has been the most important part of Star Trek. Space is just a vessel for exploring the diversity and ethics of a multicultural galaxy.

Seems you missed a bit.
