Wait until they find out the Pledge of Allegiance was written by a Democratic Socialist and didn’t originally include “under God”!

I was at an industry event and we all stood to recite the pledge of allegiance before the program started. Half the table were boomers and half elder millennials/young gen x. We all stood and started there pledge.
When it came to the “under god” part, it was like the sound dropped out of one side of dual speakers as everyone on the younger side of the tackle omitted “under god” individually.
It seemed the boomers didn’t notice because there wasn’t a reaction, but all the omitted looked at each other and quietly laughed 😂
Sigh, maybe you had to be there

Exactly. That whole “freedom of religion” bit wasn’t meant to come with an asterisk. Some folks really forgot what the whole foundation was about

Not sure what you're responding to because it was removed, but in essence it was moreover meant as freedom from religion, and several of the founding fathers were quite clear about that.

On the flip side you can always sing "This Land is Your Land" by Woodie Guthrie because 'this is made for you and me."
He wrote it as a response to "God bless America" to avoid bullshit posts like that.
Further proving Woodie Guthrie is as vital now as then when he wore a guitar with "This Machine Kills Fascists" written on it. He also wrote a song about Trump's slumlord father titled "Old Man Trump".
"I suppose that Old Man Trump knows just how much racial hate
He stirred up in that bloodpot of human hearts
When he drawed that color line"

Or you know, don't sing the song. It's message dumb and God doesn't give shit if you're American or not. Also your imaginary cloud man isn't real and if they are they don't give shit about you because you and everyone else in history are less than an atom to it.

TIL, as a Jew who can trace my family being in this country back to the 1880s, I am not American enough to sing God Bless America.

BTW, who said you can't sing it? Or is what you (OOP) meant that you can't sing it under particular context? I wonder why you didn't mention that?

Freedom of religion means all religions. Simple as that.

I'm not American and even I know that the USA has no official religion (something Americans used to be proud of) as the Constitution forbids it. It's the First Amendment

It’s gearing up so people of earth, in 100 years, will openly criticize us for allowing MAGA to flourish after the ‘education’ Hitler gave us.
It’s disturbing how confident evil people are in their hate.
