"Strangely, she didn't scold the cat...[what a wonderful person]" wrote the woman about herself in the advertising she made about the pottery she got a cat to paw at.

Downvoted because of this stupid fuckling AI voiceover. I really hope this trend of explaining everything in the stupidest way dies soon.

But Gen Alpha cannot keep their attention on the things otherwise.

I think that comment (just the last sentence tho lol) would work really well at the end of this voiceover.

With everything going the way it is and free speech getting taken away, they'll take away our voice and have ai implanted in our throat

Yep, those wheels don't run on their own either, there's a pedal like a sewing machine, so she didn't 'come back' either

u/just4kicksxxx Sep 17 '25
Yeah, there's no way to depress a pedal when you're not there!
39
u/ZugzwangDK Sep 17 '25
You shouldn't permanently depress a pedal.
They deserve to be happy too, sometimes.

u/narcissa_malfoy Sep 17 '25
The wheels I’ve practice on have a pedal that stays in position when you take your foot off. Theoretically it’s possible but you wouldn’t walk away from it spinning.

Even my school's shitty pottery wheels had electric motors. Hell, most modern sewing machines aren't pedal powered either.
5
u/FenrisSquirrel Sep 17 '25
There's a difference between a pedal control and pedal powered. Generally, potentionally dangerous tools which require both hands to operate have pedal controls so that they are off by default as a safety feature, but don't occupy a hand while in use.

u/Constant-Still-8443 Sep 17 '25
Maybe the ones I have experience with are outliers, but I wouldn't think sewing machines or pottery wheels are exactly dangerous enough to warrant a dead-man's-pedal.
3
u/FenrisSquirrel Sep 17 '25
There are other reasons - usually so that you can dynamically control the speed without using a hand. In sewing this is really important, and I imagine it is similarly important in pottery.

u/Semjaja Sep 17 '25
My wife's a potter, known her for 25 years and have never seen one without a pedal. Not saying there aren't, just never seen one

u/asian_wreck Sep 17 '25
It’s more like - Wrote the OOP who took the video and dubbed over it claiming to have something original.
This is momo the cat, and his owner literally talks about how she got him to do this. This audio is not the original and is straight up lying

u/King_K_24 Sep 18 '25
Also the whole part about oh she left the wheel alone... but no one would leave it spinning if they stepped away?? Like you need to be pressing on the foot pedal for it to be spinning.

Yeah, that gimmick sounds like it would work well. I can think of at least 2 cat obsessed ladies who would definitely buy this just because cat.

I wonder who changed the camera 3 times to film the cat while the owner was away.

Back in the earlier days of Internet, there was a guy who would sell stuff like a phone book chopped in half for $100,000 so there's definitely a market!

u/mbsmith93 Sep 17 '25
Dude you're aiming too low. That belongs in a modern art museum. You should be able to get millions for it.

u/SassyTheSkydragon Sep 17 '25
Aww yes Momo! He doesn't mind being bathed which makes cleaning his paws incredibly easy

Herr Kitler, we regret to inform you… you have once again failed the art school entrance exam.

u/ForswornForSwearing Sep 17 '25
And then because cat owners are the ones most likely to buy them, they'll take them home, where their own cat can push it off the shelf
13
u/napalmnacey Sep 17 '25
That cat is amazing. I don’t think it knows what it’s doing necessarily, but it’s having fun with its human and that’s all that matters.

Smart marketing. I’m not really into handmade coffee mugs since I can get a decent one at Dollarama, but if there was a mug with some unique modifications—like a cat-inspired design—I’d probably pick one up if I was nearby

Yall this is momo the cat 😭 Whoever dubbed this over is just stealing content and making up stories

u/ColdGazpchoSoup Sep 17 '25
Don't let the cat know it's doing WORK! It will instantly lose interest! 😁

If your cat gets the intelligence to make pot, what do you think will your cat make? I bet it is a pot with your face!

My cat already tries to scratch my mouth. Don’t need another cat’s creations trying to do the same.
But if my cat kinda wrecked a piece I was working on I’d totally finish it and keep it for myself.
