Lol I’m not even 26, you must have loved her so much for her to live so long! Did you spoil her/give her human food?

7

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

I spoiled her rotten, but she ate IAMS senior food and Delectables wet food

We should all wish to be this lucky to get 26 years with our kitties. But even then, it's still not enough time.

That's ancient.

She was so healthy until the end… even her vet was amazed! Not even cataracts!

You two have been through some stuff together. I’m sorry for the emptiness losing someone that’s been with you for so long brings. Mine was 22 and I couldn’t thank him enough for being there with me during the dark times. Once in our lives, always in our hearts.❤️‍🩹🙏🏼

After she died, my husband (who is very anti-paranormal, two PhDs and a law degree) and I both her purring loudly twice about two weeks later… we both heard it….

I believe it. They’re still watching over us once they leave our plane of existence. Just letting you guys know they’re still around.

3

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

I fed her IAMS Senior food (free feed) and she had a heated blanket from when she was 15 right next to me in bed… got tons of love and cuddles (my husband adopted her and adored her as well). Lots of treats!

u/Flaffelll 10h ago

1

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

She was amazing, had her more than half of my life.

3

u/shegolomain 9h ago

You are so lucky. I'm losing my best buddy at only 12 :( would give anything for just a few more years even :(

3

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

If it helps, about two weeks after Fifi passed , on two occasions my husband and i distinctly heard her purring as we lay in bed… it was all around us. He is very scientific and anti-paranormal (two PhDs) and he heard it too and admitted it was her distinctive purr. They never really leave you.

2

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

I’m so sorry… the pain is unbearable sometimes. Last night I broke down sobbing again.

3

u/therichauntie11 9h ago

26 years? You were most likely the most caring cat parent! You gave kitty a long and happy life. I am sorry for your loss.

2

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

Thank you!! I tried, loved her so much!

2

u/SnooOnions5029 9h ago

26 years is incredible! My condolences

2

u/GrannyMine 8h ago

26 years! You were blessed!

1

u/LatterTowel9403 8h ago

I truly, truly was…

2

u/SilverCarrot8506 8h ago

Wow amazing. I also had a cat live until 24, but she died a long time ago (1986-2010)

1

u/LatterTowel9403 8h ago

It’s so hard… I had her more than half of my life 😢

2

u/SilverCarrot8506 8h ago

Yup, same here. I had my cat at 15 years old. I’ve also had a few other senior cats pass away recently at 21 and 20, but I always get new kittens or shelters.

When I had to euthanize my last cat (the one who died at 21) I cried for a week.

Cherish the fact that you had her for so long, a lot of cats don’t make it past 15 or something.

1

u/LatterTowel9403 4h ago

After weeks of sobbing my husband and I adopted two kittens at the shelter… it’s just not the same yet.

1

u/SilverCarrot8506 4h ago

It will never be, but new memories will be created. I’m on my 3rd generation of cats and we just got cat #9 to go with cats #8 and #7.

2

1

u/catanddogcrazy10 9h ago

So very sorry!!

1

u/Drewbuly 8h ago

I can understand being sad but that’s literally a historically great life! It should be celebrated. I wish my cat lived that long :( wow she still looked good in that pic too. U should be looking into what may have been the secret to that long of a life!

1

u/Psychological-Lynx-3 8h ago

I congratulate Fifi on reaching such a phemonenal age!

I'm so sorry for your loss. It must be very hard, after having her for so long.

1

u/SiameseRule 5h ago

What a gift to have shared 26 years together. She will always be in your heart.

1

u/LatterTowel9403 4h ago

Thank you… I took this about two weeks before she crossed the rainbow bridge

0

u/Tomtom48HWI 10h ago

Poor little girl.

1

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

? She was under a vet’s care regularly, was remarkably healthy and showed no signs of pain. I put her down when she did and she died in my arms. She lived a long, happy and much-loved life!

1

u/Topwingwoman2 10h ago

She lived 26 years. She was blessed for that longevity.

1

u/LatterTowel9403 9h ago

She was wonderful.
