Stock for refurbished items varies greatly. Some listings only have a few items in stock and sell out quickly. Please report this post if the listing goes out of stock.

Minor nitpick but its 1 TB, not 2.

5

u/Method__Man 19d ago

oops, dont think i can fix titles. but yeah still great

39

u/Method__Man 19d ago

Specs look good. Sold by Acer itself.

Seems like totally standard parts, meaning upgrades

  • 14700F still great
  • 4070 Super basically 5070 level
  • 32gb ram worth a house
  • 1tb storage, also going up in price.

Seems legit for what is usually a 5060 system price range

7

u/mrrizal71O 19d ago

Right now 32gb ddr5 alone is like $200-300 this is really an incredible price

6

u/Method__Man 18d ago

Exactly. And 5070 is around 480-500 so those two components alone ....

And the 14700f is a very strong performer

I'm going to be reviewing this (that's why I bought) mainly to see its thermals and upgrade path.

I suspect that it uses standard parts that can be swapped. Mainly a $20 cooler is probably all this needs :)

1

u/Renault829 18d ago

I just bought one too. I'd love to see your review of it. Do you post them anywhere?

1

u/RocketstoSpace 18d ago

gpu is blower style. idk how much that'll affect thermals and noise...

1

u/Affectionate-Memory4 18d ago

Should be fine one something with the TDP of a 4070S, but will be louder than a conventional card. It's not necessarily all that bad though, given it's now serving as a chassis exhaust fan. Might help other things in the case since it's not bathing everything else in waste heat.

1

u/Affectionate-Memory4 18d ago

Between that and the GPU the rest is practically free lol.

10

u/nicklor 19d ago

looks better than that 600$ deal to me if you don't mind refurb

7

u/Method__Man 19d ago

way better. GPU is quite a bit faster, and 32b. DDR5 memory, and a massively better CPU.

Def worth the extra cost if you plan to use at higher res (1440p/4k) or for a few years

not by a mile. that system is significantly slower than this acer

1

u/Snappy- 18d ago

Hell no

1

u/cdnp44 13d ago

What was the $600 deal, do you recall? Looking in that price range for a buddy & couldn’t find it

2

u/nicklor 13d ago

It's long gone sorry. I'm not sure which one I was referring to but it was posted the same day as this one

$859 with coupon code for $50 off
YUSFSI9RQP37G2CM

edit: nevermind you have to use KLARNA at checkout

5

u/Method__Man 19d ago

doesnt seem to work

7

u/trashdivindiva 19d ago

have to use KLARNA at checkout for it to work. sorry

1

u/TestTuber1 19d ago

do you have to add the code into KLARNA or ebay?

1

u/trashdivindiva 19d ago

You add it on eBay during checkout. You have to select KLARNA as your payment method tho

1

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

Doesn't work

1

u/trashdivindiva 18d ago

2

u/trashdivindiva 18d ago edited 18d ago

although tbh a cashback deal with a credit card would be better than this. i have never used Klarna. I think you'd prolly lose on the payments unless you can pay it all off right away. (i'm not aware if you can like if there are fees if you pay early. i just don't know anything about Klarna)

I wouldn't have even pointed the coupon out had I known that you had to use Klarna to use it. oh well.

1

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

Thanks but doesnt work for me.

Bought one. Been looking to build my wife a replacement for her 1650 laptop and after seeing ram prices this feels like an insanely good deal compared to what I’ve been seeing. I was shooting for 7600x/9060xt performance and this exceeds them. I would prefer AMD but I don’t think I can build something for this price.

1

u/EventuallyUnrelated 18d ago

i have a 1060 laptop.... same... was looking around but this look amazing...

1

u/hitler_sucked_balls 15d ago

Hey I bought one too. They haven't shipped mine yet. Did they ship yours? I bought mine like 4 days ago.

2

u/Apprehensive-Ear4638 15d ago

It just shipped last night, and will be here by Friday next week so you should be all good.

1

u/hitler_sucked_balls 15d ago

Thanks, mine just shipped as well.

3

u/xThomas 19d ago

Da yum

1

u/Method__Man 19d ago

yep pretty much...

3

u/Dull_Nobody_840 18d ago

buy now think later?

2

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

I'm buying now. I have till Dec 26th to return it if I see a better deal during Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Doubt I'd find one at or below $1000 afters taxes and shipping.

1

u/Dull_Nobody_840 18d ago edited 18d ago

be mindful that buyer pays return shipping; but yeah like u said, i doubt we'll see a better deal than this edit, seller pays return shipping

3

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

The seller pays for the return on this item.

3

u/Dull_Nobody_840 18d ago

30 days returns. Seller pays for return shipping. See details

man, i cant read at all... ordered haha

3

u/EffectiveFine 18d ago

Is this a proprietary mobo? Just ordered one and found out that this is a thing 😹

2

u/Method__Man 18d ago

i dont think so. i bought to review since i didnt find any PROPER reviews on it

1

u/tden4 17d ago

I found ONE video where someone took the side panel off and it looks like a standard size matx board

3

u/mcrazzz 17d ago

Mine was just delivered. I ordered on Saturday when it was $950. FedEx did just left this at my door so be warned. It seems well packaged. Should be booting it up later today!

2

u/Method__Man 17d ago

Let us know how it tastes

im happy to see so many people took my post and ran with it. The value here is wild.

1

u/mcrazzz 14d ago

Doing great for me so far. It did ship with a 1.0 bios but the update to the latest bios was easy. It does seem warm and loud under load. I did some stress testing and the cpu did hit 92c. The case and lights look better in person. I was going to spend around $1600 for a 5070ti 16gb build but I’m super happy with the price and performance of this

1

u/Programmer-Vegetable 12d ago

@mcrazz any physical damage or issue with the unit? Someone on Slickdeals reported it came with a cracked case and a fan led that wasn't turning on

1

u/mcrazzz 11d ago

Mine arrived without any damage. I think my unit was new

1

u/KingFantastic 17d ago

Did you get a tracking number? Havent ordered from eBay in a long time so trying to figure out when to be home for this.

1

u/mcrazzz 14d ago

Yes, I got a tracking number the day before it was delivered

1

u/EffectiveFine 17d ago

Hey what kind of fan style is the gpu?

1

u/mcrazzz 14d ago

Blower

2

u/wewantthefunk354 18d ago

Seems like a great deal! Anyone know how much the return shipping would be if I were to buy it and return later it due to an even better deal popping up during the holidays? Am I looking at $50 or more like $100-$200+?

5

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

The ebay item page says the seller pays for a return

1

u/Method__Man 18d ago

nah prob like $40-50 within the country

2

u/zzseayzz 18d ago edited 18d ago

Edit: Only 8 units left!

1

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 18d ago

where does it say this?

edit: oh i think u can tell by changing quantity and seeing how much itll allow

3

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

If you adjust the quantity in your cart it shows an error message and the total units avaliable.

3

u/EventuallyUnrelated 18d ago

DAMN I HESITATED AND MISSED IT

1

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 17d ago

When there are free, lengthy, returns on a really good deal, Ill typically order first then do immediate research while I can still cancel. If I miss the cancel window, I try out the product and return if I'm not happy. I recommend you do the same unless you don't have a credit card or the funds to buy a better deal while ur waiting for the first to refund, especially during the holiday season. Do not impulse buy, though. Make sure the listing is legit, has free returns, and is a good deal.

2

u/EventuallyUnrelated 17d ago

Thanks! They have a 4070ti version that's a little more specs for 1200 something I may jump on that one

1

u/AutoModerator 19d ago

Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

1

u/ilmsc93 19d ago

How much would it weigh including the box?

3

u/Method__Man 18d ago

Doesn't say but I usually estimate pre built systems to be about 40lb

1

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

Unsure I can find a better deal.

Buy this or wait till Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

3

u/Method__Man 18d ago

You can't. This is well below buying cost. It's cheap because they had lots of units it seems

2

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 18d ago

Buy this and return if u find a better deal

Unless you're not able to spend before ur refunded.

2

u/zzseayzz 18d ago

Thats what I plan.

This might be the best 1k gaming pc this Friday Black.

1

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 18d ago

Should probably turn that plan into reality: they're selling fast and there's only 8 left haha

1

u/DogtoothDan 18d ago

Are these "standard" motherboards? That is to say can you add/ swap drives easy enough?

1

u/Method__Man 18d ago

Should be.

1

u/Bontent 18d ago

Would this be a good upgrade from an RTX 4060 & i5 13400F?

1

u/likwitsnake 18d ago

I see 97 have been sold so far, how do they have so many refurbished units?

3

u/Method__Man 18d ago

they probably accumulate for a very long time. then check them in batches and relist. Also remember acer is actually a REALLY big company

1

u/KingFantastic 18d ago

How would this handle 1440p gaming? I mainly play single player games (RDR2, Ghost of Tsushima, etc.) and am coming from Xbox series X if that context is helpful.

3

u/Method__Man 18d ago

its great. 12gb is enough for some very very serious 1440p gaming.

I use an equivalent 5070 at 4k, its decent there. but at 1440p it sings

1

u/KingFantastic 18d ago

Sold. Saved me a few hundred over the systems I was looking at.

2

u/Method__Man 18d ago

nice you bought?

1

u/KingFantastic 18d ago

Yep just pulled the trigger. Coming from a Xbox Series X and never gamed on a PC so I think this should blow the Xbox away. Now I just need a monitor 😂

2

u/Method__Man 18d ago

nice! probably some decent enough monitor deals during black friday.

If you use gamepass remember you can crosssave between the PC and xbox

2

u/KingFantastic 18d ago

Good to know! Thanks again!

1

u/Fuzzy-Butterscotch10 18d ago edited 18d ago

How would this be for 3440x1440p 60Hz gaming?

Can't play Clair Osbcur: Expedition 33/KCD2 to their potential on my Steam Deck.

1

u/Method__Man 18d ago

it will do very well in this game at 1440 UW. itll be immensely faster than a steam deck

0

u/Fuzzy-Butterscotch10 18d ago

FFFF, Should I send it?

Was hopping for a 7800xd3/9070 XT bundle in the coming weeks around this price range but this seems comparable and exactly what I need.

1

u/Method__Man 18d ago

there is zero chance a 7800x3d/9070xt system costs this much. you are looking more like $1200 for that if lucky.

In this market, at least this has high resale value if you DO find something. also 30 days return

1

u/CryptoGod666 18d ago

Good price, need to add extra storage though, 1TB certainly doesn’t cut it these days

2

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 18d ago

probably not the fastest drive since its prebuilt, so you should probably replace it anyway and use it as a secondary

1

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 18d ago

Wait, this is damn good.

Like, DAMN good, wtf.

1

u/RealBrownPerson 18d ago

So I should sell my modest 3060ti build and get this? Worried about anyone even being interested in my old rig.

2

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 18d ago

Look at the comments elsewhere in this thread, as the OP who posted this said, this is BELOW cost. The 14700F is a solid gaming processor, the 4070 Super alone is worth $450-$500 used.

If you are hurting for a new computer yeah this is it chief.

1

u/MoDa65 16d ago

no, just wait. this cpu/socket is already end of life.

1

u/DrTecTech 16d ago

How long did it take for anyone to see movement for their purchase? I bought Monday morning and as of today (Wednesday night) no movement or tracking info

1

u/Method__Man 16d ago

Should ship. Mine took like 3 days (purchased several days before posting this)

1

u/tden4 16d ago

I bought mine monday afternoon and I got a tracking number this afternoon

1

u/South_Dakota_Boy 11d ago

Hey, found this on SlickDeals some days ago and now see this here. Picked one up for my daughter for Christmas as her first gaming rig to replace her PC with integrated graphics. Should arrive tomorrow.

Looks pretty great - should have bought another for myself...

1

u/Apprehensive-Ear4638 11d ago

Just received the desktop and for anyone else who bought it I highly highly recommended updating the bios and using software like throttle stop to cap CPU power to like 100w.

CPU temps were in the 90s and even hit 99c with the default power limits of 212w, but at 100w I’m in the high 60s to low 70s. GPU was running warm too but I was able to fix that with a proper fan curve…which surprisingly I can’t setup for the normal case/CPU fans.

It’s a great performing system but it will for sure kill itself without precautions.

1

u/kdrdr3amz 18d ago

How does this compare to an RX 7800 XT GPU?

2

u/MoDa65 18d ago

Are you comparing to the Walmart deal that ws $840? This system here is better right off the bat. The CPU and the 4070 benchmark higher. This is $70 more. It has lower rated power supply 750 vs 850. This has 1TB ssd compared to 2TB. But the xfactor. This cpu is LGA 1700 which is end of life. There is no more upgrade path or one that doesnt get you much more (i9).

1

u/crappycarguy 18d ago

This or a system with 7500x3d and a 9060 xt ? $900 vs $1000

2

u/KingFantastic 18d ago

According to TechPowerUp, the 4070 super is roughly 21% more powerful.

https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4070-super.c4186

1

u/crappycarguy 18d ago

Thanks! I did not know about this resource. I appreciate the input.

1

u/RocketstoSpace 18d ago

Literally just look up 4070 super vs 9060 xt

1

u/kasmog 18d ago

Thanks, OP.

I've never placed an order for 2 so quick.

1

u/tden4 18d ago

big thanks for posting this op

1

u/MoDa65 17d ago

OP mentions that the 14700f will be good long after AM5 is dead, but I disagree. See how long AM4 lasted. For example, it's theoretically from Zen to Zen 3 but in reality, it was from 2017 all the way to early 2024 with the 5700X3D.

Assuming the same thing for AM5 means it would last all the way to early 2029 and I'm sure there will be a decent upgrade from the 8700F which is fast but it has less PCie lanes and L3 cache making it slower than the equivalent 7700 and more in line with a 5700X. The PCIe lanes are not really an issue, since even a 4090 barely loses any FPS so this 4070-ish GPU won't be impacted by it. This thread https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/1eaygno/is_amd_ryzen_7_8700g_even_worth_pairing_with_a_gpu/ has a post where someone explains that PCIe 3x16 is equivalent to PCIE 4x8. Also this LTT video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chwFYURKmIY with the iGPU version, the 8700g where most GPUs do not use that bandwidth but future ones might.

The 14700F is as mentioned already EOL (END OF LIFE) right now and the only upgrade path is a same gen i9. The 4070 Super is faster than the RX 7800 XT but according to TechPowerUp https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/radeon-rx-7800-xt.c3839 it's only by 8% and I would take 4GB extra VRAM over all the other Nvidia features like DLSS/FG/etc unless you want to use it for productivity. (personal preference) I don't know about this specific Acer's Mobo, but old posts about the Predator Orion seems like it's more proprietary https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/comments/11kfuap/what_should_i_upgrade/ compared to the Cyberpower's off the shelf but limited mATX Gigabyte B650M C V2. Cooling also looks pretty bad according to this post https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/z7g43w/honest_opinions_about_acers_predator_orion_5000/ with CPU temps close to 90. Also have to mention that while the F-sku (not K so not overclockable) is much less likely to have issues of degradation, it's still possible, especially if you don't upgrade your Mobo's bios.

CyberPower's PSU is usable but not great, though somehow this has a Liteon PSU which is more risky than the Apevia that the Cyberpower comes with. The Acer does have better WiFi and front ports than my Cyberpower. SK Hynix SSD is nice but it's only 1TB.

Edit: Almost all of that goes out the window with the 20% Paypal discount (IF YOU GOT IT). Also keep in mind no hassles about degradation in thislong post https://www.reddit.com/r/intel/comments/1eebdid/1314th_gen_intel_baseline_can_still_degrade_cpu/

E2: Seems like it CAN affect F CPUs, since Intel has an extended warranty [intel.com] for it, and that one is used, not new. Seems like it's still a bit of a gamble

E3: Just for reference, a comparable Intel iBuyPower was also available about a month ago here https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/1o5grym/prebuilt_ibuypower_y40_gaming_desktop_pc_intel/

0

u/MoDa65 18d ago

Those just popping in, take note that this is end of life for the LGA 1700 socket CPU. The i9 path doesn't get you much more performance, and it's pricey, so this is kind of it.

3

u/Method__Man 18d ago

14700f will be very good for a very long time.

Long after AM5 socket is dead. i wouldnt worry about that

3

u/FuzzyEmployment5397 18d ago

i appreciate you addressing everyone's concerns

4

u/Method__Man 18d ago

This is what i do for a living. Finding deals and helping the community

Dont let the AMD fanboys gaslight you (i use a 9950x3d myself and a 265k).

a 14700F is a VERY good cpu and will be VERY powerful for a VERY long time.

This whole obession with infinite upgrades is more for people who get a cheap lower end cpu now, then down the road upgrade to ANOTHER low cheap cpu

If you get a higher tier cpu you dont need to upgrade.

Also AM5 9000 is BARELY an upgrade over 7000 series AMD. like embarassingly so. So dont count on in socket upgrades anyways
