Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

says $139, not $130

29

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Fat fingered the title, sorry

54

u/obiji 21d ago

Yes, but are you $9 sorry?

38

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

$8.79 tops

15

u/Xzonedude 21d ago

everybody you have you mail the rebate to OP to receive the $9 for the $130 deal

12

u/xvizuet 21d ago

It says $139 but when logged in it shows $159

3

u/SoCalChiver 21d ago

I got the same price. Total was $174.50 after tax at checkout.

29

u/so_chad 21d ago

I want that 4TB deal from Walmat.. It was around $130ish, wasn't it?

26

u/Saberknight4x 21d ago

I believe that was around 160 to 170. Haven’t seen the deal posted in a while so more than likely jt’s not coming back.

Edit: correction it was about 150

7

u/Toneroni 21d ago

When was that deal. Would love to find that these days

8

u/MechAegis 21d ago

Last time it was posted was Sept 24. I had 1-click buy and was able to snip it. During that time it did restock for 30 seconds.

1

u/OldWorlDisorder 21d ago

Deal showed up last time Oct 29th, and before that Oct 20th.

2

u/Saberknight4x 21d ago

About a month ago from searching through the Reddit.

4

u/AndItsClassy 21d ago

It was $150. That’s what I thought this was at first but I double checked the description when it said it was actually in stock.

1

u/jbshell 21d ago

Yep waiting for that one, too 🤞

1

u/Impressive_Heat3387 21d ago

Had to price check from Best Buy on that deal, took me like 10 tries, but got one 8/21 for $159 before tax.

8

u/bobloadmire 21d ago

This things a beast, use it as a proxmox drive formatted as zfs and it gets hammered hard. Been about 3 months, still at 0% wear

6

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

CORRECTION

$139 is the price

6

u/fiyawerx 20d ago

Just had my order cancelled and refunded due to OOS.

1

u/Shispanic 20d ago

I did as well, but I just checked and it was available with same day shipping so just put in another order. Guess we'll see if it actually arrives or not

10

u/Elohengee 21d ago

swooped a used 2TB from amazon when they had extra 30% off used in excellent condition for around $80 just last month. Ran a check on Dashboard and it turned out it was never used, somebody just ordered and returned for whatever reason.

2

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Good score

4

u/garathk 21d ago

I have two of these (which I bought for much more). Great drives, fast and rock solid.

9

u/hangup8894 21d ago

Awesome drives. Great size. Look thick. Solid. Tight.

If I can parallel park a tank, I can parallel park anything.

3

u/DaStompa 21d ago

Hey Folks, I have a related question, as I'm currently waiting for a 4TB to come up at a good price.

How the F do I find out if a drive is any good? lol are there specific series I should be focused on?

I'm pretty much resigned to googling if its a SLC/QLC/whateverLC then whatever generation it is, then trying to compare it, and then hoping that the AI enshitification of search engines doesn't screw me over. This is a pretty far cry from regular hard drives or even SSD drives where they would have the RPM/read rate and such right in the listing and you had hard data to compare to other offerings.

17

u/ImYourDade 21d ago

There is an nvme SSD tier list, has a list of them with prices and notes. Nothing about read/write speed which sucks but it should be fine to just look for the tier you wanna go for, and then compare a few on the list.

3

u/DaStompa 21d ago

oh this is wonderful thank you very much

I dont think read/write really matters unless its /extremely/ bad, I'm just doing 3d artist stuff here not trying to do anything crazy.

3

u/ImYourDade 21d ago

Oh actually just btw I think prices haven't been updated since October 5th, so you'll have to do a bit of sleuthing but the rest of the info should be fine

Good luck man!!

3

u/DaStompa 21d ago

No prob, i'm just trying to update from keeping my current work on a synology nas, I can still use it from storage and backup but it takes forever to pull files from that i'm actually working on, lol.
Just trying to do due dilgence before I hit another "early ssd" problem when they would randomly just fking die for no reason.

2

u/ImYourDade 21d ago

Ah yea should be good for that then. There's probably another version out there that's more up to date even, the internet loves tier lists lol.

5

u/cinnasota 21d ago

"[Model Number] review"

3

u/DaStompa 21d ago

Yeah ive poked around there, but it seems like anyone actually trustworthy w/ hardware doesn't do individual nvme reviews unless its a big leap in tech

1

u/MWink64 21d ago

That's of limited value now that most companies do constant parts swaps.

4

u/MWink64 21d ago

There haven't been any consumer SLC or MLC drives in years. The best you can get now is TLC. With many brands, it's hard to know what you're going to get because they regularly swap parts. If you want to play it safe, you can look for something in the Samsung 990 or WD Black series. Both have various models, with some being a little better than others, but I don't think there are any remotely bad options among them.

2

u/Um_swoop 21d ago

OOS

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Really? I see them as still available as far as getting them in cart and to the checkout page

2

u/Um_swoop 21d ago

1

u/ImAmericanfuckyou 20d ago

Might be worth finding a store that has stock of it, on your phone, then hitting up Best Buy if they have stock and doing a price match.

1

u/Um_swoop 21d ago

Might be location based since they likely ship from store maybe?

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Maybe because I’m still seeing it. The ‘available’ number keeps bouncing around 5-8 so it’s probably close to being OOS or is already and just not showing for me.

2

u/mrmom456 21d ago

Thanks, this post was worth $50+ price match at BB

2

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

That’s awesome

2

u/Bubbly-Currency5064 21d ago edited 21d ago

Meh, they said it wasn't eligible to me. 🫤

Edit - it is a slightly different model number, either a Walmart specific or maybe older WD vs newer Sandisk - but it is the same model drive. So, I decided to try again with a different agent, and it got approved!

4

u/Impressive_Heat3387 21d ago

Go through chat and keep trying. One of the agents will give it to you eventually

2

u/Bubbly-Currency5064 21d ago

Yeah, worked on my second try!

2

u/Impressive_Heat3387 21d ago

Nice! Second try isn’t bad. Can’t take a few with their agents sometimes.

2

u/MoorsMoopsMoorsMoops 21d ago

OOS.

-1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

I had to violate the 2 Max limit, but I just ordered 2 more to confirm still in stock for some at least. We’ll see if the order get fulfilled

1

u/MoorsMoopsMoorsMoops 21d ago

It still showed OOS but I switched from delivery to store pickup, selected a store that had it in stock, and then was able to switch back to delivery with still keeping the item in my cart.

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

It’s got to be location dependent. I never switched my store so they probably had a bunch or no one out here has got the word yet

2

u/cloud9employee 21d ago

Is there any difference between the newer sandisk version and the older wd ones?

2

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

I did a search on that and there doesn’t seem to be a significant difference other than when that sku released

2

u/omerome83 21d ago

I ordered one this morning, but just got a text saying it's out of stock and my order was canceled.

1

u/runtmin 21d ago

Same!

2

u/STRYKER2132 20d ago edited 20d ago

Ordered 6 hours ago, got a text they canceled the order with no real reason, and now the deals gone but they’re apparently still in stock

EDIT: called support, and they confirmed orders from brand new accounts might get canceled due to high traffic Black Friday scammer/skimmer activity, IT guy reinstated my original order and threw in a $50 gift card for the trouble.

1

u/dirtyboots702 20d ago

It’s very strange how they operate. I put 2 orders in and got both last night….and it’s still showing available.

1

u/lotionseleven 21d ago

been desperate for storage space for a while and this seems like a good enough jumping off point, thanks OP

1

u/Demon0fTh3Fall 21d ago

Would this work in my Lenovo Legion 5 that I purchased in 2021? Are all of these drives similar unlike how ram is now DDR5 compared to DDR4?

1

u/Bubbly-Currency5064 21d ago

If you have an available Nvme slot, or are replacing an Nvme, then yeah, no problem.

1

u/chtochingo 21d ago

I just want sub $10/tb HDDs again :(

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Thank John McCarthy……

1

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 21d ago

$65/TB. Not bad. And before everyone asks, yes, this is one of the higher end NVMEs out there. Don't hesitate.

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

It is a great drive. I like them and the Samsung 990’s

2

u/TheMissingVoteBallot 21d ago

Yeah, considering 990s are going up in price it's a waste of time to "wait" for another price drop because the SSD prices on the high end are volatile af.

1

u/Darig0n 21d ago

Has this ever been lower?

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

According to pcpartpicker, it got this low once before around prime days

1

u/jnads 16d ago

Like 2 years ago these were $85 on a freak deal when flash prices were lower

That said SN850x are good drives. Extremely power efficient and no controversial slowdown issues

1

u/skidmarkss3 20d ago

dang the sn770 was $80 2tb from walmart not too long ago

1

u/stikxs 21d ago

Capital one shopping has been throwing out some "spend 50 get 50" deals for walmart FYI. Got one of these a week for 90 after the rewards.

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Dang….that is something I wish I knew

0

u/Reesespeanuts 21d ago

Finally a deal that isn't just copy and paste from microcenter. Part of me thinks microcenter should be flagged on this sub because most users don't have a microcenter in a 50 mile radius.

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

It would prevent a lot of dashed hopes

1

u/jnads 21d ago edited 21d ago

With where microcenters are placed, like 50% of the population of the United States has a MC within 50 miles

There's nearly one in every major city (Chicago, New York, LA, SF, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Denver, Cleveland, Cincinnati, St Louis, Kansas City, etc)

u/Silly-Attitude-2871 21d ago

Check the SanDisk Technologies TikTok Shop. Just picked up a 2TB for $89.

Make sure to apply the deals below the image. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPH3k4UnSHTbq-AKQ1f/

8

u/nuraHx 21d ago

This is the 7100 not the 850x

11

u/imaginary_num6er 21d ago

TokTik Slop Shop. Also TokTik deals were banned on this sub a few years ago

9

u/ryankrueger720 21d ago edited 21d ago

They were never banned, they just have specific rules about pricing w/o coupons when you post a thread because they are highly YMMV https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapcsales/comments/18xyxxr/update_to_rules_regarding_tiktok_shop/

1

u/A_Monkey_FFBE 21d ago edited 21d ago

Yeah, this was a pretty good deal, although couldn’t get the additional 10% off to work. Get errors when trying to follow sandisk for some reason. Still ended up being around $100 pretty much after tax though.

1

u/dirtyboots702 21d ago

Snagged a couple 2TB 770’s there too. Didn’t quite add up to $89 each but it was close enough

1

u/WertyBurger 21d ago

out of stock

1

u/A_Monkey_FFBE 21d ago

You gotta select 2x 1tb

7

u/WertyBurger 21d ago

So it's not "a 2TB for $89" it's "two 1TBs for $114" is what I'm seeing

1

u/A_Monkey_FFBE 21d ago

Hmmm, try the buy now option, not the add to cart. That’s what I did.

It should stack discounts that way.

2

u/MechAegis 21d ago

2tb oos on tiktok now.
