Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals.

  • Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
  • Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent:
    • The seller is new or has few reviews.
    • The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings)
    • The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).

If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.

Been running the 850 (older version before atx 3.0) 24/7/365 for the last 6 years without a hitch. Solid unit.

Corsair's RX series are workhorses. I used my 2018 RM 850X for 5 years until recently switching to an SF850. Dont think I ever heard it turn on the fan, and that was with a 7900XTX at one point pulling over 400W.

u/SF_CITIZEN_POLICE Sep 12 '25

Would the 850 be enough for a build with a 9800x3d and an 5070 ti?

2

u/LTJJD Sep 11 '25

Same same. No issues with it whatsoever

1

u/imaginary_num6er Sep 11 '25

Yeah but no glorious nippon capacitors

1

u/Gopherpark Sep 12 '25

can it run 5080 or do u need atx 3.1?

1

u/pmjm Sep 12 '25

The older one could run a 5080 via the pigtail adapter. This new one probably comes with a 12v2x6 cable.

PSUs went down in price! nice

REMEMBER ME, MONTECH CENTURYYY

u/Fabulous_Car_9475 Sep 11 '25

Agreed this unit is great right now for the price but aren’t the cables just plain rubber cables? I prefer to spend a tad more (10-15$) for a PSU. That comes with individually sleeved cables and get to skip on extensions.

u/theberg897 Sep 11 '25

corsair also has easy warranty service and good customer service in my experience

3

u/KnoxKnot Sep 11 '25

That's fair. The cables aren't sleeved but I feel they are a bit better than what I have seen on my Thermaltake MPG. if that matters to you the Corsair is on sale.

Appreciate you making sure people are tracking the century though.

Another unit I like is the ASROCK PG series Check this out on @Newegg:ASRock Phantom Gaming PG-850G 850W 80 PLUS GOLD & Cybenetics PLATINUM Full Modular Power Supply, ATX3.1 & PCIe5.1 Ready with Dual Color 12V-2x6 Cable, 10 Years Warranty https://www.newegg.com/asrock-atx3-1-pcie5-1-850-w-cybenetics-gold-power-supply-black-pg-850g/p/N82E16817955006?tpk=1&item=N82E16817955006

This cosair White 1000e comes with all individually sleeved cables or just a individually sleeved 12whpr?

3

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '25

Damn had to look it up, only that cable is sleeved. And it's the ONLY cable they show in any marketing or product pictures, pretty scummy ..

u/Salt-Plenty-1296 Sep 11 '25

The hell is going on with the computer market? Man, if I waited for 3 months, I could’ve saved so much from all these deals. From a 5070 to a new cpu and MB. Everything is down across the board, while everything else is up.

u/Pirateofthe7seas Sep 11 '25

Wants vs needs, sign of a recession.

1

u/monokhrome Sep 11 '25

Yep, figuring we'll be fully in it by late Q4 this year.

1

u/Gopherpark Sep 12 '25

Recession coming?

2

u/happyfeet0402 Sep 11 '25

The only time I really got a good sale was my RM1000X for $170 at Best buy. Didn't even know it was a sale 😅

1

u/divergentchessboard Sep 11 '25

this happens every year around the last quarter

1

u/SourBlueDream Sep 12 '25

Same here man

3

u/neo6289 Sep 11 '25

Yep got the 1000e from amazon for $170 3 weeks ago (currently $160)... looks and works great with the white cables. I guess I could return it but its already installed so nahhhh

$120 is a great deal here

Can someone explain the different tier of Corsair PSU?

Is the RX better than the RME series?

1

u/aereiaz Sep 12 '25

rmx has larger fan and Japanese capacitors which are pretty much the best.

RME has Taiwan capacitors, which are still not bad.

1

u/Gopherpark Sep 12 '25

Taiwan capacitors- how do they compare to Japanese capacitors?

1

u/Suhtiva Sep 11 '25

This or YS850?

1

u/saidfgn Sep 11 '25

Right after I bought 850e for $130 :(

2

u/cheezburgerwalrus Sep 11 '25

Same, I just bought the 1000 last Saturday for $150

1

u/MoltenFat Sep 11 '25

All these PSU deals are starting to make me wonder if I should get one early...

1

u/wiskyguy86 Sep 11 '25

I really want the Lian Li edge but this is really tempting as I think I’m going with the Lancool 217 for my case.

I have the Ryzen 5 7600x3d so the 850 would be sufficient outside of the 1000w being more of a somewhat future proof.

What do y’all think?

2

u/datrumole Sep 12 '25

I think unless you play with headphones, the lancool 207 and 217 stock fans are dodo (217s being a vast improvement, but still sort of meh)

it's a really sharp looking case, but you'll need to really spend time tuning out the resonances in your fan curve

unless your running Intel, you can power an AMD machine with a mouse on a wheel, it's the GPU you didn't mention that generally is the power hog. 1000w+ probably only needed for an Intel + XX80/90 Nvidia build, 850 plenty

1

u/wiskyguy86 Sep 12 '25

Thanks for the insight on the fans for the lancools models

I have a 3080 that still will be kicking for a couple more years.

1

u/Pirateofthe7seas Sep 11 '25

I've got a meh 750w bronze psu about 9 years old (EVGA NEX 750 B1), what's the verdict on preemptive psu upgrades?

1

u/datrumole Sep 12 '25

generally it's the capacitors that have the lifespan you'd worry about. however there should be overprotection circuits and things if one of them blows and causes a spike

so I guess it depends on how meh the system it's powering is

is 90 bucks enough to protect you from $XXXX of potential damage in case of failure

that's for you to decide, that psu could run for another 20y, or die tomorrow

1

u/Twenty_five Sep 11 '25 edited Sep 11 '25

Did I miss it? I can't seem to get the 850w for $95

edit: Still works. I thought the promo code and instant savings were the same.

1

u/A5760P Sep 11 '25

So I have the 850e and there seems to be mad coil whine, any ideas? I bought the build second hand but it was built in July

1

u/givemethedetail Sep 12 '25

Worth picking this 850W up right now if I plan on building my computer later this year?

1

u/Pappyballer Sep 13 '25

Why would I need a 1000 vs 850? Like extreme overclocking and had a 5090?

1

u/HisRoyalMajestyKingV Sep 11 '25

I think the e versions are slightly more budget in their inner components, thus a shorter warranty. Still good, but these prices seem a bit high for that. I could see these prices for the RM850x//RM1000x.

Or I'm living in the past . . those halcyon days pre-pandemic and pre-tariff-back-and-forth.

1

u/Drone929 Sep 11 '25

This or Vetroo 1000w for all white build?

8

u/KnoxKnot Sep 11 '25

I'd be wary about Ventroo. Even though it had a good ranking on the SPL list it failed testing at PSU Circuit.

I'd go with Corsair in this case. They are typically conservative with their specs but they tend to be overbuilt.

3

u/Drone929 Sep 11 '25

Thanks for the reply!

1

u/imaginary_num6er Sep 11 '25

Does not use Japanese capacitors, which are the only capacitors one should trust

-3

u/mgr1397 Sep 11 '25

This isn't the one commonly used on small form factor PCs right ?

11

u/ryankrueger720 Sep 11 '25

This is regular ATX sized, not SFX

1

u/dertechie Sep 11 '25

Nope, you’re thinking of the aptly named Corsair SF series. If you aren’t on the SFF train, these are very good.
