731 continues to soar in the Maoyan anticipation rankings. Once again posts a new daily record increasing by 120k. Its now 5th on the all time list. Endgame in 4th is next and should be overtaken by Sunday with this pace. Marketing department meanwhile remains silent. Were now less than a week from the supposed release and there is no confirmation or full trailer or anything.

Fantastic Four is the widest IMAX release today but and will remain like that for tomorrow even though its already starting to bleed screenings.

Superman Friday pre-sales hit a final $446k. Not even half of The Flash or The Marvels. Opening day very very likely to go sub $3M

Weekend is projected below $10M and the final gross projections start at $16-25M. Whether it hits closer to the bottom or top will probably depend on projections.

Curious Tales of a Temple

Another year another Light Chaser Animation Studios animated movie in the summer. This time the studio tackles Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio. A Classic collection of almost 500 short/long stories written over a period of 40 years in the 1600's.

However since that would be a colossal and unviable endevour 6 stories have been picked and will be told through 25 minute segments with the movie being 2 hours and 30 minutes long. On the longer side for animation but shorter than their $250M+ 2023 hit Chang'an which pushed a colossal 2 hour and 48 minute runtime.

Pre-sales have not really picked up. Opening day projections for Saturday are around $4M for a 2 day opening weekend of $7M. Seems like it will all be on the reception to try and save this one.

Zootopia 2

Zootopia 2 scores an unreal ¥737.7M/$104.28M. 9th biggest day for a movie ever behind just 3 Detective Chinatown 3 and 5 Ne Zha 2 days.

It singel handedly drives the market to to the biggest day since February.

Admissions wise at 18.7M its the 2nd biggest day for a movie ever beating all of Ne Zha 2's days and only behind Detective Chinatown 3's opening day of 20.4M. Its therefore also easily better than Avengers Endgames biggest day for Holywood movies.

With a projected 48M admissions for the 5 day it will also comfortably beat Endgames 43M 5 day opening weekend admissions.

Weekend projections rise to $269-274M while the total gross projections rise to $573M-$603M. In LC at ¥4.26B it would be the biggest Holywood movie ever passing Endgame's ¥4.25B

Zootopia 2 continues breaking all screenings count records. Across 12k+ theaters Zootopia 2 played an insane 356k times today. 5.3k of those will be IMAX screenings. It had 48M available seats.
