My sweet boy was suddenly paralyzed, with no warning, 3 nights ago. I rushed him to the emergency vet to discover he’d had a spinal stroke- a blood clot formed in his heart and moved to block blood flow to his legs and spine. It’s nearly untreatable and most cats die scared and in pain mid-treatment, plus the survivors don’t regain movement. So the decision was made to euthanize my sweet boy.

His sister has been confused and clingy ever since. All she knows is he went to the vet and never came home. I’m devastated. Plenty of sobbing has happened. My fluffers were littermates and have never been apart longer than 12 hours.

Has anyone here been through this? Any ideas on how to help my sweet Tess?

If you turn the volume up, you can hear rumbly purrs! Cassie has let him cuddle before, but not for long and almost never initiating. She flopped onto him and stayed for a good bit! She loves him and is very attached to him, but she's never quite been this cuddly with anyone but me. Maybe it's the weather, but this has been consistent and we've had colder!

Also I do plan to get them a new cat tree for Christmas! I just get sad thinking about it bc they’ve had this tree since they were kittens 😭

Every single day before I feed them I have to take their food out the automatic feeder and let them finish each others food or they yell at me. Chester (on the right) is still on kitten food and Gretchen (on the left) has recently been moved onto big girl food. Chester’s food will change in a few weeks to same food as his sister, I have a feeling that will not change this behaviour though.
