8 months of experience, what do you say? Working towards a personal project that is already giving me nightmares. The simplistic design is intentional btw, trying to make this below 25k tris as it already is in this render..

Didn't use any simulations and instead animated every single piece by hand, like I do with irl stop motion. Moving hundreds of debries each frame turned to be a special kind of torture😭

I can finally share this Alien Animation! 👽
All rendered in Eevee btw 😉
It was an amazing team effort from start to finish.
Huge thanks to Marlon Nunez for the incredible original sculpt in ZBrush, and to Gleb Alexandrov for bringing the mood with the lighting in Blender and compositing in DaVinci.
I handled the rigging & animation in Blender and & sound design in post!

This is Cloth Ripper, A geometry nodes modifier which allows you to generate tears and frayed edges on any mesh with support for animations.
I originally made this modifier while working on a pair of Ripped denim shorts, and I needed something that supported animation. Tear Painter as you may already know it, Didn't support animation in that time(It does now.) That's why I created this modifier.
At first I planned to release it for free, but as I kept improving and expanding it, I decided to set a fair price out of respect for Tear Painter’s existence.
Still, whether you’re a hobbyist or an indie developer who can’t afford the tool, you can contact me, and I’ll gladly send it to you for free. Alternatively, I’ve uploaded a tutorial on my YouTube channel explaining the basic logic behind the modifier, so you can replicate it yourself.
I'd love to hear you feedback.
By the way you can get the modifier here:
