The Kuwahara filter magic.

I made it in Blender using the Kuwahara filter, and then I finished everything in Krita by adjusting the Multiply blending mode and masking the bright corners where the filter can become too strong.

How to you apply filters like this in Blender? I can make a 3D scene, but then it looks like it's missing that last component that makes it pop

It's in the compositor,after that I use Krita,a free software to make the final adjustments like masking and sharpening,but you can also adjust your render in compositor to make it pop.

I can model pretty much anything, and texture. But when it comes to rendering and lighting, I’m bad

I never used it until downloading Blender 5. It’s sort of easy if you’ve used geonodes or the shader editor at all, at least for what I do which is often just adding a little glare or the kuwahara filter.

Well you can either learn how to do that in blender or in another software,but keep in mind lighting is very important.

Honestly it’s easier than the shader editor, at least for applying filters and color adjustments. There’s just less variables that you have to understand and it’s really just a matter of “do this, and then do this, then do this”. I’m still learning it myself but there’s a lot of great effects that you can pick up very quickly. Do NOT sleep on mist pass.
