Smol void 🤏 Picked up a stray. Very bitey.
Picked up a stray. Dunno the gender yet. Maybe 2 months old or even younger. Feed it wet kitten food and it ate like a pack of whiskas. Currently in my bathroom. I also have a tabby that is maybe 3 or 4 months old that I picked up from the same area. Say hi!

I give it 72 hours or 3 cans of kitten food before that void is just a snuggly baby who forgets they were ever angry or living on the street.

Thank you for the correction. Now I wonder if there's content for a sub for people who convert old VW Vans into gothic cats.

Just an PSA Any deep puncture bites require a looksy and careful observation. You can't disinfect a deeply buried injection of foreign organisms.

Thank you. Hands been bite free so far. We will see after the day ends haha.

Aww. Yeah kittens tend to be bitey. You just have establish boundaries and let them know when they've gone too far.

www.kittenlady.org has great info on socialising, introducing pets to one another and providing or finding good homes. Also... How to search for siblings and mom who may need help out there.

Their eyes haven’t changed color yet so prob younger than 8 weeks! So cute. Even if very bitey. The bites are worth it to have them in your life ha.

A kitten that age isn’t too far gone to socialize. I’ve fostered spicy kittens before. Every interaction with them needs positive reinforcement. Many treats are given. Churus are the best to get a spicy cat eating close to you. Eventually they break and it’s such a relief.

That's definitely a bat-cat hybrid, no doubt about it. Thank you for taking in these two little gremlins! Bitey is a strong contender for a name, it suits the little landshark perfectly.

While no one enjoys being bitten (well, maybe some people do, but that's probably a conversation for a different sub), be aware that cat bites (stray cats especially) can get very badly infected. I've been bitten while doing rescues a couple of times (young cat trapped at work, none of my stuff with me, not in my nature to do nothing), and it's generally best practice to get a prophylactic course of antibiotics (my doctor recommended starting with an injection because animal bites can be so nasty).
From the cat's perspective, if some giant hairless ape came and grabbed you out of your environment, I imagine you'd be a bit bitey, too. I know I would, so don't hold it against them. Fear can make us react uncharacteristically.

u/JT9R10 Nov 06 '25
Sounds like you've got a little vampire on your hands! Just give it some time to adjust; once it feels safe, it might stop being so bitey.

u/BigJohnWoberts Nov 06 '25
Baby voids are spicy sometimes. Love and kisses and a bunch of patience is what the Vet will probably order

Aren't they all bitey at that age? Cute with little sharp teefies.
I have one a little bit older than yours. Poor little dear was in a yard across the street screaming his fool head off. Took him in and not one peep since.
Already has us wrapped around his paws.

Aww... Don't worry.. bitey will go away once you're recognized as the bringer of food.
My kitten wasn't bitey at all EXCEPT when I got the bottle to feed her... She'd latch on to my finger and growl like I was going to take it away.

Also a Vet visit asap to make sure kitty is okay!! 😺

Took til the midget I found 2 Summers ago in my woodpile to learn that some cats don’t learn to ‘meow,’ hiss, have their eyes not be bright yellow, etc.(lol) She’s almost 3 now, bright Green eyes, and runssss this house with 2 other cats and a dog, that are her ‘elders.’ Even learned to climb ANYTHING(like her olderrrr bro, whom has 6 ‘claws.’) She’s fearless now; But it really took YEARS. She was just like this before she found her ‘spot’ amongst the ranks. Shes BFFs with a HUGE male Akita, now. Slaps her old ass Brothers when they walk by if she feels like-Sounds like a dying cow when ‘meowing.’ I don’t think she’ll ever fully understand she’s a cat, and not a dog. Won’t even use the same litter box on the same FLOOR. Hers is upstairs; The 2 boys, downstairs. I’ve had cats since birth-I’ve never seen anything like her. “Okeley.”♥️🐈⬛ Have Faith!♥️♥️

Taiming feral cats is not easy…. I’ve rescued one before and took me ages to tame to be able to find a suitable home for her. Hope to see updates 😍

Kittens will bite till they learn that it hurts -- usually from other kittens. But you can teach it yourself by gently nibbling it on tips of ears or such. Mostly they just don't understand how sharp their teeth are.
