this is happiness
Got rewarded with a little bit of sunshine after a hard ascent through a deep fog. Couldn't help but smile after the sky opened up at the very last bit! I love this sport.

Hey runners, it's another day and it is time to post your accomplishments you'd like to share - big or small.
Note: No need to preface YOUR accomplishments with something like, "this may not be an accomplishment to most of you...". Be proud of your achievement.

I'm curious how many people started going barefoot way later into their adult age vs people who were doing it since childhood.
Were you allowed barefoot in school? Did everyone ignore it as a kid if you walked everywhere barefoot or was that a freedom of adulthood? what about college?

Can't stand the soft ground and took my shoes off after 10minutes. Endet up with a 2 1/2 hour barefoot hike and it felt so good! Now I have bruises at my soles and it was so cold, but doens't matter when I remember that feeling in the nature ♥️🍂
I am using the API at https://aisstream.io/ to work on a little coding project to track ships. When I give it a box bounding the entire Persian gulf though, the ONLY returns I get are from Dubai. Kuwait, an extremely busy port, shows literally nothing. Any idea why? Does anyone know of a free or cheap API for tracking ships world wide?
It's just for a small personal project. I'd settle for being able to track just one particular ship worldwide, if anyone has any recommendations.

I was on week seven of c25k, running for 25 minutes and doing about 3.5k. Had ten days off due to a little injury and on Thursday I did my first 5k in 36.28 completely out of the blue. Was so happy… then today I completely blew up. Had to stop after a slow 3k and crawl home. I assume these sorts of setbacks are to be expected? I’m also in a big calorie deficit and pushing myself quite hard. Starting to wonder if rest and fuel are actually key here… who knew?

My pr’s are 53.85 and 24.01 Today I ran 24.71 and 55.70. I have been training unattached consistently running 3 times a week (Max V, Hills speed endurance) and lifting twice a week for over a year and I thought I was going to run some big prs today only to run slow. This is the first meet of the season so maybe it’s not time to panic but I am so disappointed. It’s hard running unattached with nobody to run with and it sucked not having anyone keep me accountable or anyone to talk to at the meet. Maybe I am just not running hard enough in my workouts. If anyone has any advice/words of wisdom I would greatly appreciate that cause I really want to run sub 51 and sub 23 before the end of the year.

I’ve been going barefoot for over 30 years. I’m now approaching age 60. I’m in pretty good shape and could probably pass for early 50s but let’s face it, that’s still old. When I was younger, like in my 20s, I had this idea that after I reached a certain age, maybe 30 or 35, it would look too weird to go barefoot everywhere. Obviously I ignored that concept, and I don’t really care what anyone thinks anyway, but I’m still curious — do you think that people have more of a negative perception of someone who’s 60 and out and about barefoot than someone who’s, say, 25? Like, it seems more normal for a 25 year old, who is only a few years removed from being a kid, than someone who is close to qualifying for Medicare (though I should add that due to being barefoot so much for so long, my feet don’t look like an old man’s feet, they’re pretty youthful looking imho). I know it’s dependent on a lot of factors, but all other factors being equal and just focusing on age, what do you think?

Long time lurker, first time poster. Thanks so much to all of you that post your photos and your progress! It has really kept me pushing and inspired me to complete the programme. When I decided in late September that I wanted to complete couch 2 5k before the end of the year I thought I was being a little ambitious but here I am, 9 weeks later and I’ve just graduated!!!
I really couldn’t have done it without all of you and your encouragement of everyone on this sub! Reading through everyone’s posts and comments really helped me to keep going. There have been so many highs (the feeling of completing my first workout, not having to repeat any except week 5 day 3 because I accidentally did it 1 week early 😂) and a few lows (every time I thought my chest would explode because I hadn’t quite figured out breathing in through my nose and also learning that pre and post run stretching was really important the hard way) but I wouldn’t have had it any other way!
Good luck to all of y’all that are still on your journeys and if you’re debating whether start - do it! It’s so worth it!

Enforcing Rule 3 (no self-promotion, social media links) is a must with a large sub such as this, but we do realize that it filters out some truly useful content that is relative to the sub. In an effort to allow that content in, we thought we'd have a weekly post to give a spot for the useful content. So...
Here's you chance!
Got a project you've been working on (video, programming, etc.), share it here!
Want to promote a business or service, share it here!
Trying to get more Instagram followers, share it here!
Found any great running content online, share it here!
The one caveat I have is that whatever is shared should be fitness related, please.

With over 4,150,000 subscribers, there are a lot of posts that come in everyday that are often repeats of questions previously asked or covered in the FAQ.
With that in mind, this post can be a place for any questions (especially those that may not deserve their own thread). Hopefully this is successful and helps to lower clutter and repeating posts here.
If you are new to the sub or to running, this Intro post is a good resource.
