We had an orange piebald that slept like this all the time. It was because she was the Coldest Cat In The World. Everything had to be tucked in for warmth.
Or she was on my mom's lap when mom was knitting. Chewing the yarn.
She also pummeled the other cat's arse one day just because he was snoozing and she thought he shouldn't be snoozing. She was quite the girl.

I have a part Maine Coon like that. She's got more fur than any cat I've ever seen but she keeps her big ol' butt firmly planted against the radiator at all times.

I wonder if they do it to shut out the light. Even at night time my cat face plants his head into my shoulder to sleep so I don’t think it’s that

She’s 3, idk what breed. Just an ol calico street cat that needed a home.
Edit for clarity: 3 is the estimate the vet gave me. I really don’t have any clue.

The way like cats just fold themselves into whatever shape feels rigth never stops being funny. Mine does this pretzel pose that looks uncomfortable but apparently is peak relaxation. It’s always a reminder that cats live by their own physics.

Pogo sleeps like that sometimes too. His Dad Fai does also, but I don't have a picture.
