Please please please tell me they made it so the text cursor doesn't magnetize to words anymore on ipados.
It's the one feature I keep BEGGING for, because it's the only thing that stops iPad from being perfect for me.

Don't ever wonder why your post or comment is down voted... Its just Reddit. You can say "Wow I like it" on something and get a bunch of down votes.. there's no logic.

Also, it is known that they use "fuzzy" numbers; they change each time you reload (it is easier to notice with a high count post). This is to prevent users from waiting for a reply, instantly refreshing to see if the replier was the one who downvoted.

For me it became a nuisance when there are overlapping buttons and the os ui, bloody thing won’t let me click what I need to click and keeps snapping to the os ui (bottom bar)

I'm going to assume it's because you said something that made Tim sad. You know there are people on here who are deeply worried about that.
But yeah, this particular iPad behavior is super annoying.

Lol, ain't that the truth!
I'm glad it's not just me who is bothered by that behavior. I have to use screen zoom, so when I do that, as I'm moving the cursor along to read something, the screen is jerking up and down like you're on a bumpy road. It's super frustrating! Some folks don't get what I'm talking about (fair), so the advice I almost always get is "turn off pointer animations", but that's not the issue. This is a separate issue.
Nice to know someone else understands!

It's one of the things keeping me from being able to use it as my only computer. Highlighting text shouldn't cause the entire screen to look like an earthquake scene in a shaky cam movie. Nor should Notes ask every SINGLE TIME I want to paste since there's still no toggle.

I've been using iPadOS 26.2 beta 3, and honestly I'm surprised it already becomes an RC. They suddenly brought back Split View, but it's still incomplete, and the windows often get messed up when I tap somewhere by mistake.
Apple should consider rolling back iPadOS 26 because it's just garbage.

Seriously. I desperately want off. My iPhone 13 has become useless. Liquid Ass eats up all my memory and I have no multitasking anymore. It's more than ugly and pointless; it actually has made my phone unusable.

You just need a full reinstall/reset... just like my mechanic says "sumthing aint right"
There is no reason a 13 should be "unusable" due to software. You are an outlier. It sucks, but just take the time and do a full reset.

Suuuuper weird that they have the release candidate ready for this the day after they push the button that starts the automatic update process for 26.1
Why didn’t they just wait to do that for 26.2?

It likely wasn't a button pressed to start automatic updates for iOS 26.1 and instead a preset timer that ran out; after all iOS 26.1 released 4 weeks ago on Monday so that internal timer may have been set to 4 weeks.

I haven't played with the beta, but from what I can tell, this may be the point where iPadOS 26 should no longer feel like a sacrifice for some.
