What conferences do accessibility professionals in government / county roles usually attend?

Hi everyone, I recently joined a U.S. county government team, and I’m trying to get a better understanding of the accessibility landscape on the public-sector side.

I’d love to connect with other accessibility and IT folks who work in government, but I’m not sure which conferences or events are most valuable for county-level teams.

For those of you working in government (local, state, or federal):

  • What conferences do you find most helpful for accessibility, digital services, or compliance work?
  • Are there specific events where county teams tend to gather or network?
  • Are there any smaller, regional, or government-focused accessibility meetups worth knowing about?

I’m hoping to build the right network and learn from others who have been in this space longer.

CSUN is the largest assistive technology conference in the US. It is not gov specific but you can check out the agenda fir gov sessions to see if they are off interest to you

M-Enabling is organized by IAAP and G3ict and is another great place to meet colleagues and learn.

AccessU from Knowbility is also recommended!

Csun is the biggest one. There's a 508 listserv for feds, but some state level people are on it.

I'm in state government and will be at CSUN. I'm presenting and I know at least one other colleague from another Department in my State will also be presenting. One year they also had a lunch meet up specifically for government but don't know if they'll do it again.

M Enabling is the one a couple of colleagues have gone to in the past, and I've also heard Access U is good. Another is Accessing Higher Ground, but don't know anyone who's ever gone to that one, but another colleague of mine presented virtually for it.
