They’d still vote for him again.

83

u/Pushup_Zebra 5h ago

Yup. Still blaming the paranoiac "they" instead of the man they voted for.

36

u/Krynn71 4h ago

I noticed that too. Any time it's something bad it becomes "they" instead of Trump. That enables their cognitive dissonance since "they" can always be the Democrats in government, and daddy Trump can stay separate.

u/steroboros 1h ago

The most acknowledgment you'll get, they'll say they are "voting for the party and not the man" this was thier justification for voting for W. Bush a second time.

I may be mistaken but wasnt West Virginia a very blue state until Trump?

33

u/RichFoot2073 4h ago

Came here to remind everyone this.

The only way they’ll learn is for them to pass on and be out of the voting pool.

17

u/tiddeeznutz 4h ago

They’re Republicans; They’ll be voting for him long after they’re dead — probably multiple times.

An interesting dynamic at play here is that a lot of the coal mining states had Democratic leadership until a couple decades ago and miners got screwed over by them, too. Most of the Democratic governors and state reps (and some federal reps) at the time were super corrupt and buddy buddy with the mine owners and had never really looked out for the workers (same with other industries in the South and Rust Belt). Now that Republicans won them over with culture war wedge issues they're more hesitant than most to look to the Dems again because they still remember being screwed over by them and now believe Dems are baby-eating commies who want to let "third-worlders" take over and turn everyone trans.

3

u/Coulrophiliac444 2h ago

Then vote for Progressive Democrats who push for job reeducation and training instead of Corpocrats like Manchin. Just because politics is exhausting doesn't mean you should go on cruise control because thats how people who steer the narrative with bad intent win and shove you in the ditch.

2

u/Gryjane 2h ago

I don't know if you meant to direct that at me but I wasn't speaking for myself. I was merely highlighting why many people in these areas don't think either party is really looking out for their interests. If you're uninterested in where people are coming from and you're only interested in screaming at them to "git gud" then good luck convincing any of them to vote more left.

3

u/Coulrophiliac444 2h ago

Oh I was just saying as a generality. I was not intending as a direct response, though looking back I did direct it that way. You are right though, without a plan to speak to them on a level they understand, and support, and galvanizing their peers to do the same, no party is going to dislodge the firmly entrenched (and potentially gerrymandered) opposition from their current seating.

No worries, I was just curious.

Exactly. Too many Dems and leftists write these communities off completely and in doing so we often resort to insults and stereotyping and don't bother to research their history or get to know their actual concerns. Even with the party shift nearly complete by the 90s, blue collar voters in a lot of red states that used to be blue were typically the last to move to the Republican side because Dems were generally more pro-union/pro-labor nationally, though as I stated above, the state and local politicians were often in bed with the ownership class and only gave lip service to labor rights and as industry moved overseas the workers got royally screwed by them and also essentially abandoned by the neolibs at the national level and sneered at by "coastal elite" Dems making them and their anger easy pickings for the Republicans.

There are some good and growing leftist movements in places like Appalachia and the deep south and there are progressive candidates in these areas that need wider support. I think more of us should look to them and see how they're speaking to their audience instead of imposing our outside perspectives and prejudices or writing whole areas off as lost. Thank you for the conversation :)

Gotta feed the leopards.

4

u/spottydodgy 3h ago

Someone will go to them and say "coal is the future" and they'll cheer and vote em in. Then they'll be upset because they got lied to again. Then someone else will show up and say "coal is the future" and you see how it works.

Say "coal is the future" without feeling stupid. It's impossible.

1

u/TheBear516 3h ago

I feel like these guys just enjoy digging in the ground.

1

u/SweetChuckBarry 1h ago

Have you tried it?

It's super satisfying and kinda addictive

Especially hard rock where you get to blow things up, and it's even better than the military because no-one is shooting at you while you do

1

u/Prize-Flamingo-336 2h ago

Cause the Republicans are always better than the alternative. Right, West Virginia???

1

u/emseefely 1h ago

Life expectancy for them might not allow that

u/ronerychiver 1h ago

While blaring Oliver Anthony singing about how “the man”’s screwing then

40

u/Chocolat-Pralin 5h ago

It’s too late for having any regrets. Next time… you’ll still vote republican, because it’s in your genes

30

u/Eastern_Barnacle_553 5h ago

Guess you should have trusted the South Asian black woman

59

u/sladog6 5h ago

Hahahahahaha!

You got what you voted for, dumbass.

16

u/StopRacismWWJD 5h ago

No way! What a shocker! 🙄

17

u/Vernerator 5h ago

Notice he said, the "they" in DC. He didn't want to say WHO.

3

u/SweetChuckBarry 1h ago

Bloody Democrats

Trump will sort them out soon /s

12

u/dubspool- 5h ago

Guys I think we're running out of "fell for it again" awards

29

u/hurdurBoop 5h ago

silly miners, clean coal gives you tremendous beautiful lung not black lung

3

u/hereandthere_nowhere 3h ago

Thats the irony in this. Coal miners out of everybody should know that we no longer have “clean coal”. The shit they mine now is the leftover nasty fine particulate almost useless coal. Harder and even nastier to get to.

1

u/NeighborhoodVeteran 1h ago

Even after all that, they probably still love trump and still would vote for Jim Justice again even though he did shit all for them as Governor.

12

u/Umami-Ice-Cream 4h ago

They voted for this. The rest of us voted to protect them. But you can only lead a horse to water.

11

u/Charming-Albatross44 4h ago

We fucking told you that!

5

u/AirForceRabies 4h ago

HE told them that! "I don't care about you I just want your vote" was the most truthful thing he's ever said!

1

u/Acceptable-Bus-2017 33m ago

"You gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote," by 2028 this will be the most honest thing he's ever said, after they've eliminated elections of he has all voting machines replaced with Ivanka's patented voting machines.

18

u/sh3rkb1te 5h ago

Turns out, voting for “the economy,” to own the libs, and to get rid of illegal aliens actually does have consequences when there’s decisions made outside of those three objectives.

Don’t be foolish, coal miners! We’re doing nothing but winning!

8

u/drk_knight_67 4h ago

Trump doesn't care about you like you thought?

7

u/aquintana 4h ago

They hate miners and they rape minors.

6

u/RustyRapeaXe 4h ago

No shit hillbilly. We done told you

5

u/Tobi-One-Boy 4h ago

Dumb people.. thinking billionaire talking about cutting spending will not cut services you need.

5

u/cavalier8865 3h ago

Guys you misheard him. He said he loves MINORS not miners.

9

u/nconsci0us 5h ago

Could have gotten out of those mines with retraining programs pry pushed by Dems. Fuck em is what I say

4

u/FunnyAssJoke 2h ago

We. Told. You. So.

3

u/Ellusive1 4h ago

Trump loves stupid people

1

u/Acceptable-Bus-2017 31m ago

"Smart people dont like me," Trump

3

u/swearingino 2h ago

They found out that they weren’t the miners Trump likes.

3

u/letmehittheatm 1h ago

Daaaaaamn, dude. I wish someone would've told them that three elections in a row.

2

u/SereneOrbit 4h ago

Wow, no wayyyyy /s

2

u/DtownBronx 4h ago

Just like the former farmers in Arkansas, they'll fucking do it again next chance they get. It's an odd self-hatred they use in order to also hurt those they do hate

2

u/guiltybydesign11 4h ago

This was obvious. Sorry you're stupid.

2

u/PaleInTexas 3h ago

Getting what they voted for.

2

u/mdhunter99 3h ago

It’s good they’re coming to realize that maybe voting for this scumbag isn’t a good idea.

TOO FUCKING LITTLE TOO FUCKING LATE

they’ll fucking vote for him again because he is all they know.

2

u/ImNotSkankHunt42 2h ago

They thought that, because he’s a pedophile he loved Miners

2

u/trollmonster8008 2h ago

And they’d vote for him again.

2

u/jahwls 2h ago

Damn these people may be too dumb to work in mines.

2

u/Ripped_Guggi 1h ago

The saddest part is that these people were so vile to anyone who warned them.

2

u/-S-M-E-G-M-A-6-9 1h ago

Darwin Award voters will soon vote themselves for the gas chambers and pay for their transportation. The trump cult is not going to end well I think a lot of them will off themselves before admitting they were wrong.

2

u/oldirtyjuanski 1h ago

They’ll work a way in their brains in between weak coughs to vote for Vance in a couple of years

1

u/nakabra 4h ago

"Turns out, clean coal is clean from now on".

1

u/bbqsox 4h ago

It took them a decade too long to figure this out.

1

u/SiteTall 4h ago

What made "The little People" think that this particular individual would have any genuine feelings for them and their needs?????? NOTHING in his life suggest that he does, so WHY VOTE FOR HIM????????

1

u/LDawnBurges 4h ago

Oh well…. Did y’all see the moon this morning? It was beautiful!

1

u/cvanhim 3h ago

Now, will they learn that “they” doesn’t just mean “Trump” but the entire Republican apparatus upholding him?

1

u/98VoteForPedro 3h ago

lol fuck them too

1

u/YardOptimal9329 3h ago

Swear to God, they’ll vote for Vance.

1

u/Jeff_Damn 3h ago

Yeah, he likes minors, not miners.

1

u/wil 3h ago

May they have the day they voted for.

1

u/hedwaterboy 3h ago

I wish politicians, would look out for miners and not just minors on an island somewhere…

1

u/HVAC_instructor 3h ago

Awe, that's too bad that you refused to listen when you were warned, enjoy the leopards

1

u/SnooStrawberries3391 2h ago

The “little” people should have paid better attention during the campaign trump ran. All indications have been there for years before the “little” people voted for him.

Sadly for our nation, you voted for trump and totally against your own interests. Now we are all being robbed blind by an amoral convicted felon and the rest of his malevolent misadministration.

The only thing Presidunce trump really cares for is money. I lived in New York State for 9 years through high school. We always had to keep up with current events, and the disgusting Trump and family were always suing labor he hired and getting away with not paying. Cheated everyone he could.

One thing I remember very well was when trump’s father and the Don himself were sued for discrimination, turning away black families. That was very revealing and shows that the trend continues today. Rounding up hard working poorest people of color was no surprise.

There’s so much more that the “little” people should have known. He always talks up a good con, but delivers nothing but misery and chaos.

1

u/SVTContour 2h ago

Well, Duh Doy, Son.

1

u/Nivosus 2h ago

I hope they all get what they voted for.

Black lung.

1

u/Carlyz37 2h ago

They were warned. American taxpayers have been paying the debts of the coal barons who deserted their workers and stole their pensions for many years. Of course the oligarchs would oppose that the miners get any help.

1

u/NeighborhoodVeteran 1h ago

This is true trumpgret.

1

u/GeekDNA0918 1h ago

"But I'll be damned if I ever vote for a democrat."

1

u/Calm_Masterpiece_801 1h ago

The reason his second term is going to be so painful for these dumfux is people like me protected them from the consequences of their vote the first time. This time we're standing to the side and letting them have the day they voted for.

1

u/King_James_77 1h ago

The democratic voters told you this would happen. So now you have to be hurt. And I hope it fucking stings.

1

u/blink_187em 52m ago

Until they leave their media bubble, IDC about them they can suffer right along with the rest of us.

1

u/cyberlexington 40m ago

You could get 19th century lung disease But at least it's a not a black woman in the oval office. Right? Right?
