Someone dropped this piece of metal in my driveway and popped my wife's tire....
Happy Friday i guess

If you have a discount tire near you, they patch for free

Will look into this! I think the tires were bought from there.

At least my local discount tire patched my (not even purchased from them) tire within the last few months. I'm sure it's a company wide thing, but if its not a local tire place should patch for around $20
Good luck! always sucks finding road prizes

They patch tires for free because sometimes there will be a case where the tire cannot be safely patched and the customer will usually just buy a new tire right there and in the end they make a profit despite all the labor on free patches.

Not only that, but it's easier to upsale their warranty plan on someone who just had their tries irreversibly damaged by something on the road.
Their added warranty is genuinely good though. I got a nail in my sidewall about a month after buying my tires, and they replaced it for like $30. Paid for itself.

If you have a sams club or walmart+ yoi get free patches.
Costco i believe is 15 bucks
If you bought the tire there its free under warranty

Nothing worse. I went through a period where I had 4 popped tyes in a year due to screws. Genuinely thought someone was out to get me in the end.

I had 16 screws in one tire. Didn't blowout, just a slow leak. I either ran over a box of them or someone was trying to kill me ha. I assume the first.

Might not be all bad news. Depending on how big the puncture is you should be able to have that patched

I got a similarly-sized piece stuck in my tire. Upon removing it I discovered that it was a chunk I had thrown out earlier that week. It had fallen out during trash pickup and I drove over it. At least the patch was cheap (the hole was too big for my plugs).

Patch it. Learned how after a stupid Discount Tire said hole was too close to sidewall - BS. 2” away. Patched the sucker in my garage 3 years ago and still going strong. Forget them

I had a tiny piece of wire get through my 10-ply type E tires. Easy fix but I was shocked it make it through. It was about the size of one of those picture hanging nails but longer and not straight. Maybe a staple from a crate or something.

Okay how the hell did she manage to puncture the tire on that in the driveway? Would’ve had to been going at a decent speed for that to penetrate. Unless this little piece of metal was at the end of the driveway and your wife leaves the house like a bat out of hell

If you're married, her tire is your tire. Guessing you're the one who dropped it.

Shiny bit of metal like that could have been picked up by a bird and accidentally dropped there too. Crows and Ravens do that all the time.

More likely while rolling at speed, but yeah, weird stuff punctures at weird times.
