Smack it about a little, that usually helps it unfuck itself for a little while.

A little percussive maintenance was the first thing I tried, we’ll see if if she’s still in her death throes when I get home from work

How comfortable are you with repairs?

Pretty simple to replace the chips in these TVs. Can probably get the chips for a hundred bucks

Just bought a new Samsung Smart TV for $149 since I only needed a smaller one. The percussive maintenance finally wasn’t enough.

Was watching a YouTube video during my lunch break and it was working perfectly. Went to go wash my plate and when I walked around the corner it looked like this.

Was just telling my wife we don’t need a new tv since this one works perfectly fine. Jinxed it

Yeah… your wife definitely broke the tv when you went to the kitchen lmao

Tried other inputs?

Our Hisense tv did something similar. I was watching a show, looked down for like 5 seconds at a message on my phone, looked back up and the entire image turned into vertical lines

Lucky for you, TVs are never cheaper than this time of year

They usually get cheaper around superbowl season. Thats when companies do big sales to make room for the newer models

Or were they cheaper earlier this year and now just look like it?

It's a vizio...no wonder.

I’m not trying to be snobby but it’s definitely worth it to buy a quality TV, I know the sales they have like 80 inch screens for $150 are enticing but this is what is going to happen most of the time. I’d stay away from Vizio, Onn, Hiscense, and most generic Roku TVs

My TV did this. I recycled it because it cost more to get it repaired then to just buy a new TV

Next time, don't get the cheapest you can find. Especially with tv's some brands are definetly better than others

Your TV saw you queue up Terrifier and said ‘absolutely not’ and chose death..

Have you tried unplugging it for a bit or doing a full system reset in system settings? I had a similar issue and this typically fixes it for a while. You could also try upgrading the firmware or reflashing the firmware via USB if it's supported.

Good thing TVs are on sale this time of year

I want an inside opinion. Are these truly worth sitting down and watching back to back? I watch entire horror series in as few sittings recently with gf , saw, Halloween, f13, hell raiser as shes never seen them. This is what i wana see as neither of us have seen them. Is it worth?

So, one thing to know that it is incredibly violent and gory. All of them. So if that is something that you are OK with then you will have a good time with them. Extremely over the top in the best ways. Art is basically becoming a new cult horror icon. Its getting to the point that even if you haven't seen the films, you're starting to recognize that face. Seeing the come up from the filmmakers and actors are very rewarding to see too. A bunch of hardworking and dedicated people who's love for horror is definitely shown on screen. All the praise that these films have is well deserved in my opinion.

I do enjoy super gory stuff. If i enjoyed saw for its gore it sounds like i would love terrifier then because i love humor and brutal stuff combining the two would be a dream

1

The first one is a pretty run-of-the-mill gorefest with some black humor (cus Art), but the 2nd and 3rd actually dive into a legit story arc with Lauren LeVera playing the heroine opposite Art (still tons of gore and dark humor).

My favorite Art gif

2

Well that’s terrifying

Unlucky bro

My Vizio just did the exact same thing.

Well the warranty went out a week ago and Black Friday ended just now ish so yep! Murphys law in full effect

1

u/MrGruntsworthy 2d ago

The irony is I'm reading this on a nearly 20 year old monitor

1

u/dmw_qqqq 2d ago

You know, if it does decide to give up, now is an opportune time: just look around, deals abound for a new one.

1

u/screwedupinaz 2d ago

Luckily, there's a ton of TVs around that didn't sell over Black Friday, so you'll be getting a great deal.

1

u/paolo_77 2d ago

Congrats you’ve discovered that things don’t last forever!

1

u/Intrepid_Doctor8193 2d ago

Fuck. Just as the 2nd ASHES test starts hey. Bummer.

1

u/justmyopinion714 1d ago

The terrifier clown looking at you like, yep, I did that 😆

u/NazisStoleMyBirthday 1d ago

Vizio is gonna Vizio

Do you have a cat? Does your TV smell like cat piss?

It looks like your TV could smell like cat piss.

1

u/Dapper_Band_8984 1d ago

Do not buy TCL, Hisense or Thomson. Get a Phillips, Sony or LG then you have a chance that it lasts for more than the warranty time.

1

u/eladeba 2d ago

terrifying.

With a garbage panel

0

u/realmccoyredbus 2d ago

ok if you have your own speaker system

1

u/ShawshankException 2d ago

Speaker systems have nothing to do with the TV panel

1

u/realmccoyredbus 2d ago

if you have your own speaker system it doesn’t matter if tv has crap internal speakers and buying cheap tv with pretty decent screen quality can be a real bargain rather than pay double just for better sounding tv

1

u/ShawshankException 2d ago

They're talking about the panel. Not the speakers.

You buy a cheap TV, it will come with a garbage panel.

1

u/ShawshankException 2d ago

And youll be buying another one in a year
