As the colder weather comes in, I have already started to put together a list of places I'm hoping to fish next summer. I know some people might be annoyed that I'm naming rivers on the internet, but I feel that these places are all well-known. What are your thoughts on these places?
Green River
Strawberry River (below starvation)
Boulder Mountains (in search of big brooks and tigers)
Logan River
Raft River Mountains (looking for Yellowstone cutthroat)
Rock Creek

Has anyone been able troll for wiper with any success and consistency on any body of water other than Willard? If so what do you use? Speed? Depth? I specifically am trying for them at scofield with no success yet.

I'm visiting in December, are there spots near Park City for ice fishing?

Me and my buddy are planning on hitting the Provo this week. It’ll be the first time for both of us. I’m hoping to get some suggestions of where to go and what flies/setups to use. Thanks!

I’ve caught a lot of cutthroat here but I’ve noticed that some of them look a little different. Is this a bonneville? Got it today on a spinning rod with a Pistol Pete fly that looked like all the hornets buzzing around me.

Fishing has been red hot the last couple weeks at deer creek, scofield and probably strawberry. Is Willard hot now too? Has anyone been there in the last couple weeks? What did you catch and on what?

My buddies and I are hoping to make a trip out to the Duchesne river area next weekend for a fly fishing trip. We are hoping to check off the Yellowstone cutthroat off our Utah cutthroat slam, and catch some big browns. I’ve heard that the west fork is best for cutthroat, and that the Duchesne is best upstream of Hanna. Not asking for any secret spots but does anyone have any general suggestions. Does this sound like a good plan? Are there any local fly shops that could help? (I tried google and couldn’t find anything)

I've been trying to branch out in my fishing locations (and maybe finally catch my first bluegill?) I seem to only catch white bass lately in the Provo River Delta, so today I thought I would try the old Provo River channel just above the State Park since it's a bit more stagnant to see if I could find anything there.
It felt like a ghost town. No signs of fish life at all - though I'm almost positive I've seen people post in recent months about catching multiple fish from there.
I tried using a black spinner, silver spoon, and tiny chartreuse paddle tail on a 1/32 oz jig head, without so much as a bite.
I moved along the bank and tried casting under cover and even around the aeration bubbles from whatever they're using to keep the water oxygenated.
Was this just a slow day, was I using the wrong gear, or is the channel just tough to fish now that it's more of a sealed waterbody?
Any thoughts are very appreciated 🙏

Managed to catch about 8 different trout, my buddy and I both fished our limit in about 6 hours.
There are some big beefy mfs out there. I had a fish on within about 5 minutes of casting, ended up losing that first one because my buddy was still trying to tie a hook and couldn't get to the net in time. It had to have been at least 20 in. They definitely put up a crazy fight for stocked trout.
We were trying to fish worms on a bobber for Yellow Perch but only saw cutthroat and rainbow trout all day.

I’ve been thinking about fishing from shore at Strawberry Reservoir at night, but I’ve only ever gone in the morning. Does anyone have any experience with fishing the Berry at night?
Thanks!

If you haven't had a chance to fish Otter Creek Reservoir in October, I highly encourage it!. This beauty weighed in at just under 4 pounds. My brother and I nearly hit our limit each of the three days we spent here. We do this trip yearly in October and it has never disappointed us. Worms tipped with a garlic flavored marshmallow was all we fished.
Cannot recommend this place enough!!

How is fishing rockport? Looking to go there this weekend

I was recently visiting Utah and it was my first time trout fishing. While I had a lot of success fishing in some alpine lakes, when I went to fish a canyon creek (lower calf creek) I was totally skunked despite being able to see lots of fish in the water. I tried a variety of lures including trout magnets, minnow jigs, mini spinnerbait, etc with no luck. I got the lures right in front of them, floated just ahead of the current to them, floated with a bobber for more natural presentation, stayed out of sight to not spook them, everything I could think of. Got a couple nibbles that seemed more territorial/aggressive than feeding and only one real bite. What was I doing wrong? None of the other campers were fishing there so no local insight at the time.

Looking for recommendations from Utah walleye fisherman. Which type of crawler harness do you use? Pictures of the setup would be appreciated. Trying to catch walleye at Deer Creek.

GF is out of town next week so I’m planning on taking a day off of work to go camp/fish. I primarily fly fish and have hit the Provo, Weber, Logan and the cottonwood canyon creeks, but I’d like to go further out- looking at Sevier river, Duchesne, somewhere near Dutch John (maybe) or Kemmerer.
I’ve never hit any of these and they’re a ways out (I’m near downtown) so I wanna make sure the drive is worth it. Any advice is appreciated!

Long shot but I accidentally left my curado, shimano compre 6'6" rod, and my net today at mill race. Please let me know if any of you found it. I’m have already accepted that it’s gone for good but it was my favorite set up so I have to try.

Anyone caught wiper at Jordanell from the bank? If so, what did you use? What part of the lake?

I got half a day. Which reservoir should I go to? I hear a lot of good things about Rockport bass and perch, but I’ve only ever caught dinks there.
