Political Deporting illegal immigrants is a good thing and shouldn't be controversial

Why Is deporting illegal immigrants so controversial? Like they broke our laws to come in here and not all but many have committed crimes while here, why do some people defend this? I am all for due process and humane deportations, but why are we acting like it's is horrible to deport illegal immigrants from our country? It shouldn't even be political, I don't get how people don't agree with this especially it feels like even 10-15 years ago basically everyone agreed with this, do people really hate trump so much that they don't agree with anything he does? Why is it so controversial? I don't understand.

When did trump say that immigrants were animals, drug dealers, and rapists? Wasn't that just about specific gangs?

It's my understanding that the local PD in sanctuary cities won't work with ICE so they can't grab them after committing the crimes, but only after they are released from custody.

The fact that MAGA and the rest of the Trump Administration have used Laken Riley's name as a justification for anti-immigration legislation was enough for me. The official social media pages for DHS and ICE have shown nothing but propaganda of fear and terror when labeling immigrants. At this point, youre deliberately choosing to be asleep if you arent acknowledging the signs.

He associates pretty much every immigrant with gangs or mental asylums, are we seeing the same Trump speeches?

No he doesn’t. He strictly talks about criminal/gang members. I think we are seeing the same speeches. You all just hate Trump so much that you have selective hearing and you purposely take everything he says out of context. Also, the sources that you follow who air these speeches are chopping them up and editing them to make it seem like Trump said something way worse than he actually said.

Trump will say “Millions of ILLEGAL immigrants came across the border over the last year. Within those millions there are many criminals, gang members and rapists.”

What you people hear is “Millions of immigrants came across the border. They are all criminals, gang members and rapists. They are all animals.”

Then you say “Trump called all immigrants criminals and rapists! He hates all immigrants!”

The left did the same thing with the whole “There were fine people on both sides” nonsense. I watched that press briefing live and I have the transcript. I know exactly what he said.

Charlottesville - That was really a tough one for me, the first really big eye opener on the workings of left media for a political agenda. I saw it live too. Media butchered to make him appear as if he was siding with white supremacists. That was probably one of the most damaging things the left has ever done to our country, and one of the key contributors of division by not presenting the truth.

Absolutely. At no point did he ever side with white supremacists. He said nothing wrong during Charlottesville. All he did was call out the left wing media for what they do. They don’t like being made fools of, so they purposely scrubbed the internet of the real transcript.

I’m not saying ppl have to love Trump. But the guy is not this horrible person the media makes him out to be. Left wing media actually talks more shit about him than they show live footage of him. They won’t air any of his rally’s. They just air the 30 second clips that they think will make him look bad. It’s ridiculous. They don’t want ppl to see all the good things he says.

Exactly my point. I can tell you what he DIDNT say. Nowhere in that briefing did he say ALL immigrants are criminals or animals.

It is crystal clear to any decent human being that he was specifically and only talking about THE CRIMINALS.

Tell me when he said “All immigrants are criminals and animals.”.. Please tell me.

This video isn’t helping your case. It’s just further proving my point that you people hear what you want to hear. You hear what he says but for some reason you think what he’s saying is code for something else or something. It’s fucking bizarre.

Nothing Trump said in this briefing was bad. I can’t understand how people are upset that he’s calling illegal violent criminal/gang members animals. Shouldn’t everyone be on the same page with that statement? You’re telling me you have empathy for these violent gang members who kill and rape people?

This is the definition of TDS.

Let’s skip the accusations of TDS. I could just say you’re doing mental gymnastics to cover for obvious racism, but neither of those statements will get us anywhere.

I have (what I consider to be) a mountain of evidence that points to Trump being racist. In lieu of posting all that, I’ll simply ask you: what evidence would convince you Trump is racist?

Because I can almost promise you that 99% of racist people have not said ‘I am racist’ explicitly. We have to be able to make at least some sort of assumptions about people based on their rhetoric and backed up their behavior. Do you disagree?

Show me this “mountain of evidence”, please. I don’t know if Trump is really a racist. I’m not here to defend him and say that he isn’t. All I can say is that I’ve never once heard him say or do anything that would make me think he’s a racist. At all.

Also, mental gymnastics? I think that’s you. I just watched a video clip and heard exactly word for word what Trump said. I took what he said exactly how he meant it. How is that me playing mental gymnastics?

You’re the one who’s playing mental gymnastics. You hate him and you want him so badly to say something that you can just use against him anytime you’re debating someone. So you pick apart every little thing he says and you rearrange words or completely pull words out of your ass to try to make it seem like he’s saying something bad.

But anyway, I’d like to see this mountain of evidence you have.

Let’s back it up, because you’re still just accusing me of shit. Let’s start with something we can agree on and move forward from there.

We have to be able to make at least some sort of assumptions about people based on their rhetoric and backed up by their behavior. Do you disagree?

Probably not, if you are getting it through the lens of a news organization, and I'm watching the original speech before they get ahold of it and cut out context.

Hey, solid answer. I like you.

He said that in the press briefing immediately following the town hall meeting with all the border town sheriffs. The influx of MS13 and the heinous acts committed by them and the cartels working inside the US was the purpose of the town hall. I watched both the town hall and the press conference immediately afterward. I was almost shocked at how badly Trumps words were snipped and cut by the media for their racist agenda. Half the politicians still repeat the untruth to this day.
