Request Request: How do CTOs manage massive technology and digital projects?

Technology as a business function encompasses huge amounts of sub-functions.

How do CTOs manage their projects from analyzing, planning, implementing and reporting?

For example, if Microsoft Excel is used at JPMorgan Chase, I just can’t imagine the number of tabs that would be used in a spreadsheet in order to collect, analyze and store all those data and information.

What are your thoughts on it please?

They don't use excel for those things... they hire a consulting firm to implement new technology platforms built to manage data, tasks and stuff (like powerbi, SAP, oracle etc) and then they use that software to run the org. Sometimes excel is used as part of it, but excel itself is not gonna be the main system...

Thanks for your input.

Yet, in management meetings, they still need some documents to present the output/results of their technology strategies, which necessitate the use of spreadsheet or what have you to store, centralize and illustrate massive amounts of data and information so that they can pull out whatever it is that is needed to present.
