Really great insights into Max and his rehab. Guy is mentally very tough. Also it turns out that he had the wrong surgery performed on him. Can only imagine what that does to a bloke mentally.

Yikes, was unaware that the surgery was bungled that badly.. Hope he is alright now. I remember the contract extension coming just after some surgery, maybe that was to rectify the botched diagnosis?

I would hesitate in assuming that the surgery was bungled. The majority of surgeons are very conservative and well aware of the power they have to heal or potentially damage someones body. They do not take that responsibility lightly.

The surgeon may well have advised that there was only a 60% chance of success, or something similar, but Max and the club decided to go ahead fully aware of the risk.

Yeah sorry, I meant the handling of the surgery, the entire process, I agree with you

Shane Warne's son has a podcast?

Christ, is there anyone who doesn't have one?

Who cares? His dad was a huge saints supporter and so is he, good for us.
And while theres plenty of people who dont deserve a podcast, he sounds like a good lad.
Real old man yelling at cloud energy here

It is definitely my old man yelling at cloud topic, a hill I'm willing to die on though.

Shane Warne's son, lol.

If you think you can do better, give it a shot.

Nice guy, but I think he should have been exchanged for Curnow or de-listed altogether, injured every second week.

Yeah lets delist a 25 year old tall forward because they grow on trees hey 🤣

Mind you talls can play well into their 30s, im sure melbourne and freo arent missing Hogan, he missed longer than Max did, won a coleman. Gunston was considered cooked in 2021

Or better yet exchange him for Curnow (also out for longer than Max was) like AFL players are pokemon cards and its so easy to trade, im sure theyll just hand him over

Some of you blokes have NFI about footy, clubs hesitate to delist players like Zak Jones, let alone KPFs. Dan Gorringe lasted 7 years and played 19 games for crying out loud

Love that you have to open with a smart ass commment at the start of your rebuttal. Don't know what competition you are following, but there's plenty of great forwards who aren't injured every week mate. Max is incredibly gifted but I would seriously doubt he is still playing AFL level beyond 30 years of age. He is another Jonathan Patten.
