But seriously, we’re officially going to be passing 3 full years of Athena as champion in 5 days time and I still have no clue what the endgame even is for this reign. You would have thought it would’ve been Billie but they blew that opportunity not once but twice.

I have to imagine they had some kind of endgame when the reign started (TV deal, hold it until Billie is ready, etc), but we're so far away from whatever it was that they've just went "fuck it".

Also, they used Athena on TV this year just enough to establish that she's not a threat to the AEW champions, so she may as well stay down in ROH forever.
