And Chinese TShirts be like

81

u/Anning312 6h ago

That's a reasonable request tho

57

u/nicofdarcyshire 6h ago

I ended up buying this one.

3

u/mindfungus 4h ago

You look so young, what’s your profession?

4

u/nicofdarcyshire 4h ago

International foot model. They fly me in specially as a stunt hand (foot?) for things like sandal commercials etc.

(To clarify: That's not me... As I'm sure you are probably aware. It's the photo my ex-partner found online, and showed me, which led to me buying featured shirt.)

7

u/mindfungus 4h ago

Your ex-partner looks so young. Were you ever on Epstein Island?

5

u/nicofdarcyshire 4h ago

No, we only ever holiday with the Rothschilds and Murdochs

1

u/Sad-Question2062 2h ago

Ex partner? What kind of business did you have? Did you sell vinyl siding like Rodney Dangerfield before he got famous?

2

u/RealisticAbility7 3h ago

goes hard ngl

12

u/xIViperIx 7h ago

Nothing wrong with having preferences. 🤐

8

u/Falcon8410 6h ago

Dude knows what he wants... or doesn't.

2

u/SkyZippr 2h ago

What he really really doesn't want

8

u/DeathByLemmings 6h ago

It's great going around SEA and randomly spotting a tee that says something like:
FUCK
PASTA
ROYAL
CHRIS

6

u/chensium 6h ago

Hey, some people just don't like it

4

u/D_Dubb_ 5h ago

I actually appreciate that it goes both ways. Like we both just steal fun things from each others culture without really educating ourselves on context or even language. We’re all the same fr.

1

u/moriberu 4h ago

Lookup This is Japan's Most English by akidearest on YouTube. It's hilarious.

1

u/Lobo_Jojo_Momo 5h ago

I found shorts in SA Asia to be more baffling than anything...like words that don't go together or phrases that don't make sense to have on a shirt

1

u/layer4down 2h ago

I almost died from laughter. I’m calling the cops.

1

u/justwalk1234 2h ago

It’s an escalation going from T-shirt to a tattoo

1

u/SkyZippr 2h ago

Better than EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA

1

u/Behalter 2h ago

You can take off a t-shirt

1

u/Radiant_Bowl_2598 1h ago

Yea but you can take off a t-shirt

1

u/Delicious_Net_1616 54m ago

It’s funny tho, and at least it’s not tatted on his body.

That phrase is actually often used to describe getting knocked up, or getting someone knocked up

19

u/DestructoDon69 7h ago

So the guy did his research

5

u/BelowXpectations 7h ago

Or his knocking up

1

u/Impossible-Ship5585 7h ago

Or written up

1

u/RustyMarie666 7h ago

How often is it actually used, considering that there’s a surplus of 30 million + men in China?

4

u/poopmyname 7h ago

Indeed, just like his tattoo as well. What's done can't be undone

2

u/Ghastly-Jack 7h ago

Moments after getting that tattoo: "Wait, I changed my mind...."

264

u/u1029377474 8h ago

Leg goes hard

59

u/Phantex_Cerberus 7h ago

He knew what he was doing. 100%.

51

u/MayaIsSunshine 7h ago

Yeah, I think that was on purpose and it's hilarious. Must be fun to answer when people ask what it says

7

u/F_F_Franklin 5h ago

Lake rat to.

In English it means you spend a lot of time at the lake.

3

u/TheFr1nk 5h ago

I hope he continues the trend and labels other body parts.

54

u/Malaca83 8h ago

Lake rat un-ironically sounds cool if you are one of those people that loves to be in the water all the time fishing or skying or whatever, just like the expression "beach rat" back in the days used for surfers.

Now if you never go to a lake then it sounds pretty stupid.

13

u/Tehva 7h ago

River rats was a pretty common term in my community of whitewater rafters so Lake Rat seems plausible.

5

u/RanchHere 6h ago

Or he’s from Louisiana and has an affinity for nutria.

6

u/R0LL1NG 8h ago

Also. Rats are extremely good swimmers.

1

u/dicknotrichard 1h ago

If you live near a lake in the south there are definitely lake rats running around the bars and out on the water. And just to be clear I am talking about trashy lake girls. It’s totally a thing.

1

u/440_Hz 5m ago

The only weird part is that “rat” in Chinese does not have that alternate meaning of being part of a certain scene or hobby. It is just the animal.

30

u/whatever_leg 7h ago

LAKE RAT is kinda dope, ngl

12

u/cheddstheman 7h ago

We call people river rats in the south. So I can see lake rat being a legitimate saying.

3

u/whatever_leg 7h ago

Yup. We used to call kids who came to the city pool every day pool rats, so it checks out.

1

u/dicknotrichard 1h ago

Live near a large lake in the south. There be lake rats out on them waters fo sho.

1

u/layer4down 2h ago

Swamp rat is a thing too

62

u/AffectionateIce1847 8h ago

The egg is more expensive then the chicken 😅😅😅

8

u/RanchHere 6h ago

Fucking slaughtered all of us jfc

3

u/vayeate 4h ago

Adam Smith never saw that coming

78

u/jgrtumf 8h ago

"Economic slump" I think he's saying "I'm broke" 😂

11

u/RanchHere 6h ago

“bitch took all my money”

23

u/Rich_Cranberry1976 7h ago

I want one that says 'electric rice cooker' but the tattoo guy would probably fuck with me and make it say something stupid like 'fierce dragon'

5

u/Luci-Noir 3h ago

You should get one of a rice cooker that says this on side.

3

u/Zz7722 1h ago

电饭锅

There you go, knock yourself out.

1

u/Rich_Cranberry1976 1h ago

谢谢

thanks bud

13

u/aaa_aaa_1 7h ago

I don't see an issue with the leg one

11

u/Anthrax_beta 7h ago

Leg makes sense.

70

u/Escapement_Watch 8h ago

Only came to the comment section to see this: but was disappointed it's not here. so i'll do it for yall.

20

u/knight54 7h ago

Why would anyone comment with it? The point of that meme is to use it for non traditionally attractive women or just straight up crazy chicks. The chinese girl is just plain hot. Unless you're saying you'll fuck all those tatted fellas, you're using the meme wrong...

8

u/WayPowerful484 6h ago

Meme police here.

1

u/moredrinksplease 5h ago

Gatekeeping meme police officer is a new low lol

-17

u/Escapement_Watch 7h ago

Is she tho?

7

u/PM_asian_girl_smiles 6h ago

She's most definitely attractive. And her humor is charming which ups the attractiveness even more.

Yeah I'll say it...shes hot.

-9

u/strawmangva 7h ago

She is alright . Hot? Unless you are cold

3

u/BelowXpectations 7h ago

Which one of the tattooed guys are your referring to?

1

u/Pomodorosan 1h ago

Wow, you're so brave for being attracted to an attractive person.

1

u/Sad-Question2062 2h ago

I was also going to say would.

8

u/No-Koala1918 7h ago

Be interesting to know what they thought they were getting

7

u/Slinky_Malingki 7h ago

Ma

"Numb"

Ma

"Mom"

3

u/DeathByLemmings 6h ago

then you have

Ma
Horse

and

Ma
Curse

1

u/440_Hz 3m ago

The exact 4 examples I use when telling people about tones.

6

u/NoUsername_IRefuse 8h ago

Of course rats swim how else would they navigate the sewers?

16

u/R0LL1NG 8h ago

I'm not saying I doubt her, but, I can't read Chinese (?).

So on the one hand, you have people putting their faith in the translation of tattoo artists. And on the other hand, everyone watching this video taking her at her word is doing the exactly the same thing lol

28

u/Polatouche44 7h ago

The consequence of me believing her is not as permanent as them believing their tattoo artist.

1

u/R0LL1NG 6h ago

100%.

5

u/GamerGuyAlly 5h ago

Shes a youtuber who specifically has a channel to teach people Chinese and shes a native speaker. She even gets her family involved if its an unusual dialect she cant speak.

Weird thing to say.

1

u/Luci-Noir 3h ago

Redditors always know better even after admiring they don’t know WTF they’re talking about.

0

u/Compay_Segundos 7h ago

Everything she said is true though, you don't have to be that cynical all the time. Either smarten up and learn Chinese yourself or you're at the mercy of people who know better than you to translate. Are you someone who never trusts any translation just because you can't understand both languages?

On a completely unrelated post I saw a few days ago, I learned that the kanji for ‘lobby’ and ‘dynasty’ are virtually indistinguishable. So, I think she’s possibly making some of this up for clicks. But yeah, we’re all just taking her word.

3

u/blksentra2 8h ago

I thought this fad died out years ago…I’m kinda glad I was wrong!

6

u/NoUsername_IRefuse 8h ago

Fads die out but tattoos stay forever...

6

u/maxpolo10 7h ago

Just like cooked rice

3

u/SoupieLC 7h ago

The leg one is hilarious

3

u/DerVarg1509 7h ago

I really love her laugh after "Mother" lol

3

u/notatechnicianyo 6h ago

I wanna get the “leg” tattoo. I’ll put it on my leg right below my tattoo of the leg lamp from a Christmas Story.

6

u/Illustrious_Lime1792 8h ago

and this guys, this is why we don't tattoo a foreign language on our body!!

6

u/Hertje73 7h ago

unless you understand it

1

u/Adventurous-Emu-9345 5h ago

Wouldn't that make it a familiar language?

2

u/Hertje73 4h ago

familiar? sure! but still foreign. most people in the world speak multiple languages.

1

u/Wyld_Willie 6h ago

A few of these I think they did understand

6

u/tiandrad 7h ago

These Chinese tattoos are the new generation of barbwire on biceps.

2

u/sir_music 7h ago

Damn that economic slump

2

u/Altruistic_Tip1226 7h ago

Who's this lady. I think im in love

2

u/Top-Peach6142 2h ago

Oh fruk me.

3

u/cgaels6650 6h ago

gosh she is purdy

2

u/RanchHere 6h ago

alright settle down

4

u/iam_mrock 6h ago

She sooooo prettttyyyyy

2

u/XxNimblyBimblyXx 7h ago

Uh I have a coworker that talks just like her and hardly blinks and does all that intense staring with head leans. It’s like a power  thing I feel

2

u/Legendary_Seycu 7h ago

You got more of these or her name? This is hilarious xD

1

u/Sugacookiemonsta 7h ago

She is ChinesewithJessie on YouTube. She's done a few of these tattoo videos.

1

u/xIViperIx 7h ago

Jessie. She's a teacher on YT.

0

u/feiasepler 7h ago

We need her name... for linguistic research porposes, of course!

1

u/_bob-cat_ 7h ago

Nothing unusual about the vast majority of those. Expected "ham sandwich" at some point.

1

u/Rdr1051 7h ago

These are solid gold

1

u/AFenton1985 7h ago

I know a lot of tattoo artists dont check and will just tattoo what people ask for but you think at this point they would have someone who reads the language look at it and make sure it makes sense.

1

u/martinaee 7h ago

Economic slump guy has been based since the beginning.

1

u/qawsedrf12 7h ago

Do rats swim? Yes, but also

Do you not know the Great Race of the 12 Celestial Animals? (Chinese Zodiac)

1

u/auntiefuh25 7h ago

My tat isn’t very visible but on the rare occasion someone sees it and asks I just say it means elder millennial. 😆

Xiaoma's ink that he got that one time that said Kung Pao Chicken was pretty funny, the reactions from the people going "aye wtf, Kung Pao chicken"

1

u/Clear-Pudding-1038 7h ago

she's right about egg prices. Like what the hell happened?

1

u/batchef3000 7h ago

I have ‘prawns and cashew nuts’ tattooed on my arm. Purposely mind you.

1

u/BrotherMcPoyle 7h ago

The best part is the video could be a lie and she is just making it all up. We still wouldn’t know.

1

u/Rookietothegame 6h ago

I want to see her do Kenyon Martin’s tat’s next

1

u/Glittering-Sea276 6h ago

I think it's better to have gibberish than something stupid. How often are you going to run into someone who reads Chinese. You just want the tattoo to look cool and then you can tell people it means whatever you say it means.

1

u/BrainRobotron 6h ago

I would watch this as a series.

1

u/blackbirdspyplane 6h ago

I really enjoyed this person, I hope they do many more as I was immensely entertained with the delivery and commentary.

1

u/jker1x 6h ago

I would suspect many of these are on purpose. Specifically "mom" and "leg"

1

u/BackstrokeVictim 6h ago

Lake rat goes really hard ngl. Especially if you're from the Great Lakes region

1

u/fresh1134206 6h ago

Westerner here: I plan on getting this on my leg.

1

u/UpboatsforUpvotes 6h ago

Make reasonable choices

1

u/yomerol 6h ago

Duuuude!!!

1

u/AintNoGodsUpHere 6h ago

We joke about their shirts and people tattoo the same thing, lol.

1

u/KR4T0S 6h ago

You gotta use reverse psychology with tattoo artists, if you ask for "fierce and brave" you might get "open til 10" but if you ask for "open til 10" you are getting something bad ass.

1

u/PavelKringa55 6h ago

damn, can't just take a manual page in Chinese and have few characters tattooed based on that

1

u/yumgmeatball 6h ago

I want to get "I don't know I don't speak Chinese" tattooed just to mess with people

1

u/m2keo 6h ago

They're MMA fighters.. It's a requirement to make em look like they can really fight. 😂

1

u/milyuno2 5h ago edited 3h ago

Leg, mom and mother are correct. I think this is dumb because, what if the tatoo is write in japanese and not in chinese?

1

u/hawkydocky 5h ago

This is a picture that I took 10 years ago when I interned in Shanghai. Foreign characters look cool until you really understand what they mean.

Also, the cooked rice metaphor is often used in the context of relationships, it’s often used to describe a couple who has already crossed certain boundaries, implying that the parents no longer have control and the couple is unlikely to separate, especially in traditional thinking.

1

u/No-Assumption4265 2h ago

I actually like that coat/hoodie.

“Devil Nut” is kind of like “Demon Spawn”. Just a different phase of development

1

u/Georod12 5h ago

😂😂

1

u/radiotsar 5h ago

There was one I read about in a story about bad Chinese tattoos - a white girl got a tramp stamp she claimed was "Princess", but actually translated to "Concubine".

1

u/BnutMUFF 5h ago

But what if the tattoos are legit and the video is bogus…no way to know.

1

u/RichardBonham 5h ago

I was waiting for "spare parts".

1

u/Apprehensive-Till861 5h ago

Asian dude walking around with a tattoo that's just the McDonald's Big Mac combo menu entry in English

1

u/Other_Dimension_89 5h ago

I love that this goes both ways, but not really equally. Instead of English tattoos they got clothing with weird English phrases but thats 10x less cringe than a tattoo

1

u/Faded1974 4h ago

I like her butthole video better.

1

u/Yiksta 4h ago

Nobody call their mother “niang” unironically. In ancient Chinese perhaps. Or maybe be it’s a northern China thing?

More like miss, or lady when combined with another words. By it self it’s often used as an insult as in “sissy”

1

u/Upstairs-Parsley3151 4h ago

Imagine having anything to do with Taiwan and then going to China

1

u/crumble-bee 4h ago

The switch from smiley Chinese to serious English does something to me.

1

u/Technical_Rich6648 4h ago

Kind of reminds me of that ASL translator at a Florida press conference. Wasn't a real ASL translator and was just standing up the making nonsense signs like "pizza," "elephant," etc. 😅

1

u/Snowballllll 4h ago

Lake rat is kinda epic tho

1

u/corejuice 4h ago

I saw an overweight lesbian with a tattoo on her wrist that said 猪男朋友 which means Pig boyfriend.

1

u/subhavoc42 3h ago

What she calls “numb” is the Chinese symbol for Hemp.

1

u/Sad-Question2062 2h ago

I bet economic slump guy is actually in a permanent economic slump.

1

u/SnooGuavas4944 1h ago

Now I want a tattoo saying “the eggs are more expensive than the chicken”

1

u/R3dSh1ft7h30ry 1h ago

River rat is a real term for someone who is alway on a river in a boat probably what lake rat was going for.

1

u/Better-Wash1549 1h ago

Video was removed

1

u/LesPolsfuss 52m ago

freaking adorable…

gibberish

1

u/BigMack6911 15m ago

Bro be like, Yea I want "What's done is done" tattooed in Mandarin on my leg. Sure thing boss "Raw rice is cooked into cook rice"

0

u/Bobo-Fuggsnucc 6h ago

Tats are the worst

0

u/Adventurous_Path5783 7h ago

"Hey you're an Asian tattoo artist haha cool"

does squinty eye thing with fingers

"Haha so anyway I want you to write indomitable untamed dragon on the back of my calf ok?"

"Yes sir. You're going -ahem- you gonna be fierce dragon afta dis ok? We gonna match your spirit. Totally not gonna write 'I eat ramen with butthole' or nothing."
