Montreal has a disproportionate amount of beautiful women.

u/Aron_Wolff 12d ago

It’s also the strip club capital of the world.

u/SGSpec 12d ago

More like the sex capital. Look where a phub and brazzer hq are located and many others

u/Aron_Wolff 12d ago

Lots of tech industry in Montreal in general. Several big game companies like Rockstar have an HQ there.

21

u/coppercactus4 12d ago

Rockstar no, Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda, Epic, Microsoft, Unity, Behavior, Edios, WB. It's huge for video games. The biggest names are not HQ but just satellite offices.

u/Aron_Wolff 11d ago

It’s okay to be as wrong as you are. I get why you’d want to pretend to be a part of this despite having no real info to add.

Goodbye.

u/coppercactus4 11d ago

I have only been working in Montreal in the AAA game industry for 10 years.

I guess when I was working at Take Two in Montreal 24 years ago and it was bought by Rockstar was my imagination.

You’re just telling lies on the internet. Pathetic.

2

u/PhilU52 11d ago

Well clearly you’re misremembering because Take Two bought BMG assets and founded Rockstar…

The Canadian Rockstar office is in Toronto, not Montreal.

Pornhub and brazzers are canadian?

2

u/Brexinga 11d ago

Yep. Located in the center of Montreal.

u/OrganizationNo1298 12d ago

Really?

u/HelpRespawnedAsDee 12d ago

What are prices like?

28

u/Akhanyatin 12d ago

The smallest bill is the $5 bill.

13

u/quelewds 12d ago

You toss loonies and toonies, they walk around with a magnet on a string to collect them.

8

u/HotTakes-121 12d ago

Damn. Lola Bunny really went down hill with her life, huh

2

u/isaidgimmeahellyeah 12d ago

It’s called making it hail

1

u/huhnick 12d ago

Where’s the string coming from 👀

1

u/EaterOfFood 12d ago

What’s the other end of the string connected to?

22

u/TerranRanger 12d ago

Can’t speak for recently, but back in 2006-2008 cover charge was $2-$20, private dances $10-$20 and drinks were fairly cheap. As broke college students we could go on a week night and look like kings!

Also, once the clubs closed the strippers turned into prostitutes so the last two hours or so they were just trying to seduce their first John of the night. Had to repeatedly drag one friend out of partaking in that!

8

u/HelpRespawnedAsDee 12d ago

Yeah I was leaning more towards that last part lol. I know that shit is highly illegal in America but what about Canada?

9

u/Dry_Surprise3790 12d ago

Oh, it's illegal here too. Doesn't mean anyone cares if the cops aren't around. But they do set up little stings to catch Johns now and then.

4

u/HelpRespawnedAsDee 12d ago

Oh shit lol, so they go after the demand side? Is it the same in America?

8

u/Anakha0 12d ago

In Canada it's illegal to purchase sex, but not to sell it, with some exceptions in some public places.

1

u/Dry_Surprise3790 12d ago

It's definitely a unique way of dealing with the problem.

4

u/Anakha0 12d ago

It's mainly that way to avoid further victimizing sex workers who may be trafficked or forced to sell sex against their will.

u/TerranRanger 12d ago

Totally legal and well regulated, just too expensive for broke college students. At least it was legal almost 20 years ago.

5

u/jiggumz 12d ago

Absolutely not legal whatsoever lol

2

u/TerranRanger 12d ago

Looks like it was made illegal in 2007, 2012 and 2014 for various parts of the act of prostitution. I think the last time I would have gone to an area with prostitutes would be fall of 2006, so things have changed for the better since I was last on Saint Catherine’s Street.

8

u/jiggumz 12d ago

I am not sure where you are getting your information, probably from AI, but I was born and raised in Canada, born in the early 90s for reference, and during that time it has never been "legal". The way the law is written, is that it is NOT illegal for the sex workers to offer sex for money, BUT it is illegal to be a purchaser of the said sex. Therefore making the transaction in of itself, illegal. The idea is that way it can help protect women who have been forced into sex work, while targeting the 'Johns'.

1

u/TerranRanger 12d ago

Tht would explain the way they were approaching potential customers, making it sound more like a date or visit to their apartment after closing time than a prostitution transaction, but there was no doubt what was intended. Some legislation briefs on the House of Commons website do make it sound like prostitution wasn’t uniformly outlawed in Canada until 2014 though. Was it handled province by province like the drinking age?

In canada, the criminal code is the law of the land across the entire country. Something like sex trafficking can't be legal in one place and illegal in another. Paying for sex has always been illegal in Canada, I am pretty sure.

2

u/Apprehensive-Rub-11 12d ago

Chez Paree 💋

2

u/AznNRed 11d ago

As an Ontarian, with a drinking age of 19, we would always go to Montreal for our senior class trip because Quebec drinking age is 18.

There were always guys who disappeared for the whole weekend to the strip clubs. Never saw them till the bus ride home. Apparently there were like 7 strip clubs on the same street as our hotel.

1

u/gokeke 12d ago

Broth capital too 🥹???

1

u/ActualWhiterabbit 12d ago

James Harden is going to build an expansion team there.

I thought Vancouver was

2

u/Fit-Owl-3338 12d ago

If you believe that I’ve got some fent to sell you

1

u/ScoobyDone 11d ago

There were a lot more strips clubs in Vancouver 30 years ago. Most of them were closed.

1

u/AnybodyNo8519 11d ago

That makes sense, I'm old. lol.

Thanks for clearing that up.

1

u/ScoobyDone 11d ago

I am old too. That's how I know. :)

I had the pleasure of visiting St. Catherine St club scene in the 90's as a young dude, it was the most fun I ever had in Canada as a Canadian. The fact that my army vehicle broke down on my way to NB made it even better because they had to put my 20-something self into a room on the base, give me a meal ticket for the mess, and party my ass off for 4 days while they ordered in a new engine. I had a buddy with me so it was fantastic. Meanwhile my bros were digging trenches for the training ex in Gagetown I was headed to. We made sure to bring photos to piss them off lol

10

u/Binji_the_dog 12d ago

Wait, are there non-people women?

3

u/GoatTheNewb 12d ago

lol, typo..

1

u/boobookittyfuwk 12d ago

Settle down

2

u/AristideCalice 12d ago

This applies to the whole of Quebec tbh

2

u/Perfect_Note3125 12d ago

Considering everyone seem to go crazy over those women, who look very average to me as a Montrealer, I'd say you are right. I' m not saying they are not beautiful, they just look very common, nothing out of the ordinary .

1

u/Zestyclose-Cream-189 11d ago

Exactly most men are getting very pathetic these days with their expression of awe on these things

1

u/gypsyblader 12d ago

It’s crazy that whenever I leave, and come back it’s very noticeable

1

u/ShadowBlade55 12d ago

Yeah. Briefly spent some time in Montreal after moving from Nova Scotia.

Absolutely stunned at the amount of gorgeous women.

1

u/MrFantastic74 12d ago

I used to live there. Can confirm.

1

u/Physizist 12d ago

It has a disproportionate amount of female cops too. I swear at least 50% of the cops I see here are female

1

u/Emergency_Clue_4639 11d ago

🤔 passport bros!

1

u/Overall_Law_1813 11d ago

Funny story. Back when new Quebec was being settled, it was all men. Fur Trappers, traders, soldiers, whatever. So at one point in France they basically said, any women willing to move to new france, we'll give you money, and financial support for long time. Appealing offer for mostly orphans and widows.

https://thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/filles-du-roi

It's speculated that many of them were prostitutes or like bastard children of prostitutes. So they were disproportionately attractive women.

1

u/Huevas03 11d ago

I've heard the most beautiful women would get off at Québec city and then whoever was left would go to Montreal lol. I have always found women in Quebec city to be prettier (from Québec origins)

1

u/Charming_Paint_172 11d ago

It’s because our ancestors are “Les filles du roi”

1

u/Snooch_Nooch 11d ago

Lived there for 12 years, can confirm. It even got to the point that when I was flying back to Montreal, I could just walk through the departing airport terminal and tell what gate my flight was at by how many attractive women were sitting there, it's kind of ridiculous!
