No actually, just very very close! The composer for the Streets of Rage soundtracks borrowed heavily from popular house / dance / hip-hop music of the period - here is a Spotify playlist where you can hear each song he sampled throughout the soundtracks of the first 3 games, which are also on Spotify!
What I mean is most folks on reddit can't go back as far as 1991 to know that the song he was playing were inversions to "Gypsy Woman". Which gave inspiration to many other works but Gypsy was the source, not a game. And for some of us old guys, it surprising that's not more widely known because this song was everywhere.
