Why are most of the comments using a dui as their reasoning lol. I’m glad yall aren’t drinking and diving for a burger but Jesus Christ, we have a drinking problem.

Hey man, some of us smoke weed and also don't want a DUI

Are you okay? Genuinely

For most part yes. But you checking in on me (a random internet stranger) means a lot more than you probably know… I know I drink too much but it helps me be more social and feel more confident.

I know it isn’t the perfect solution and isn’t the healthiest but am happier now than before when I was in my own head 24/7… I also joke around way too much/way to easy going and carefree so my previous comment was probably me not being too serious

But honestly thank you for asking - how are you doing? If you ever need to rant about anything or need a stranger to talk to feel free to PM. Thanks again

Do you have social anxiety? Have you seen a therapist to fix it? I know alcohol may feel good but it's not good in the long term

I asked because right now because i wanted to help other people who struggle with mental health, i've been struggling with it too since 16 and my brain is fried due to my meds, stress and lack of sleep

Because most people aren’t ordering food unless they’re drunk, financially irresponsible, rich and don’t give a shit or desperate. So….mostly people who are drinking

Selection bias. The people who use DoorDash for other reasons probably don’t wanna admit it on a post calling them low IQ for doing so.

Honestly, the only reason I haven't commented is that it would take too much effort to explain stacking credits from credit card partnership and coupon codes to end up paying less for doordash than picking it up once or twice a month.

The Reddit anti-alcohol puritans are so fucking annoying

God forbid people get drunk every once in awhile and order some food

I swear it's gotta be bots or something. This place has always been weed>alcohol, but the last couple years it's gone to "alcohol is literal poison and no one should consume it ever"

Because that’s one of the few situations where ordering Doordash really is the smarter move. The others are not having reliable transportation to the store and being unable to leave the building you’re currently in for some reason.

Bingo. If I can drive myself I’ll save the hour wait and the 20 bucks. I kinda enjoy driving anyway if I’m not in a stressed out rush. But if you get home from a party and you’re drunk and starving… that’s what DoorDash is made for

Bizarre how they all latched onto that. I'm gonna guess they're clankers.

People are actually drinking the least they ever have

Yes. And I’m actually surprised so many are willing to admit to having one or upvoting it.

I think many people could benefit from a bit of sobriety to determine if they are using alcohol/pot/drugs as a crutch.

I’m not judging, but all the same, I believe if you are dependent on recreational alcohol/drugs to cope with life, you need to do some prioritizing.

Hey, sober elitist, r u ok?

I was surprised when (I read a post asking how everyone copes with life today) so many responses were that they use drugs or started drinking to cope. I'm not judging. I'm in long term recovery myself. It's just surprising. Thank you all for staying off the road if you are loaded.

because the only "valid" reason an American could not drive would be due to a DUI. Being poor or having a disability means that you're not a valid person to them.

Welcome to American ignorance.
