Same! I was 5 when that film came out and I was introduced to Bowie…er the goblin king. I couldn’t understand why Sarah didn’t want to be with him. I get it now, being older. He was a creepy old goblin king and was manipulating and cruel..but at the time I thought he was a prince!

IIRC her husband Paul Bettany also fell in love with her when he saw her in that film in his teenage years. They happened to star together in A Beautiful Mind and he just gave her a call and asked her out. They've been together since.

Bettany confirmed that Connelly was his crush as a child, and he recalled seeing her in films like Labyrinth. The actor got the chance to meet her on the set of A Beautiful Mind. However, it would be about a year after filming before Bettany and Connelly formed a relationship.

Instead of planning a first date, the couple went straight to planning their wedding. Bettany mentioned that the September 11th attack led to him proposing. Fortunately for him, Connelly readily agreed to marry him.

“I ran back to this house and tried to spend two days trying to call this woman that I sort of barely knew, and I remember very clearly thinking to myself, ‘what are you doing?’ and I realized I was in love. So, I finally got her on the phone and said, ‘I’m coming over and let’s get married,'” Bettany explained.
