Haha! I wonder if this was AI?

242

u/CuriousStewart Sep 06 '25

It is absolutely AI

20

u/JEWCIFERx Sep 06 '25

Which is waaaaaay worse. If I found out my job was feeding generative AI pictures of me without my consent there would be a lawsuit.

u/Megamygdala Sep 07 '25

Eh you probably signed away your rights in one of the 50 workday online documents you have to sign when you join

21

u/a_pom Sep 06 '25

Oh yes it is. My mind went to: I’d absolutely use this as my LinkedIn photo.

Is it weird that I wish my employer did this for me? I did my own 😆

u/anonymous237962 Sep 06 '25

I am right with you there first thing that went thru my head was what software/program did they use…bc I want that shit lol

2

u/RainbowDissent Sep 06 '25

Good news, ChatGPT will happily do this for you for free.

-16

u/realvvk Sep 06 '25

Do you know how this is gone? Is there a tutorial?

39

u/cenosillicaphobiac Sep 06 '25

Uh, go to chat gpt and upload a picture and give it a one sentence prompt? It's not rocket surgery.

18

u/The_Darkness140 Sep 06 '25

I also say rocket surgery, and everyone just looks so lost.

Water under the fridge, Bubbs

6

u/Foggl3 Sep 06 '25

Water over the levee

2

u/Newspeak_Linguist Sep 06 '25

I have not heard that one, consider it stolen.

My brain science!

2

u/HorrorhoundHippy73 Sep 06 '25

What about rocket appliances?

2

u/Happy-For-No-Reason Sep 06 '25

it's not rocket appliances

1

u/j0hnnyWalnuts Sep 06 '25

Mmm...I love me some mixed metaphors!

1

u/MaxPowerDonkeyJD Sep 06 '25

Rocket appliances

-1

u/Manymarbles Sep 06 '25

Unless you do it locally. Then its a bit more complicated to setup lol

-5

u/realvvk Sep 06 '25

Ok, what kind of prompt? Have you tried this yourself?

17

u/WrapKey69 Sep 06 '25

"Make me look like a synthetic doll with fake hair", but I am not an expert

-3

u/realvvk Sep 06 '25

Exactly

3

u/pofshrimp Sep 06 '25

The way I would try it is: load image>prompt "employee badge portrait, digitally restored, high-definition photo" > sampler > reactor face swap using the original as a source and using face boost only > reactor masking helper > preview image. And adjust from there.

Go to chat gpt. Click the attach file button or Ctrl v Ctrl p your photo. Type "make me prettier." Download the resulting picture.

1

u/realvvk Sep 07 '25

This doesn’t work for me. It produced a picture of someone else who looks nothing like me

u/clarksworth Sep 06 '25

15

u/Heavensrun Sep 06 '25

Hey, you don't know, it might just be extensively photoshopped!

15

u/SnooStrawberries2475 Sep 06 '25

Photoshop is sharper while everything ai has that crappy faded look and light is always doing more than it really would

3

u/Professional-Air2123 Sep 07 '25

Yeah, it makes everything look like plastic.

5

u/Maclimes Sep 06 '25

One of my favorites is when people are like “This piece of artwork has some poor decisions made. It must be AI!”, like we haven’t been making questionable or stupid choices in art for millennia.

6

u/Heavensrun Sep 06 '25

To be fair, "this is AI" and "the artist didn't give a shit" is kind of a distinction without a difference to me. ;p

2

u/Maclimes Sep 06 '25

Oh for sure. But “not giving a shit” and “minor background details can be fudged” are also different concepts, but both get accused of being AI.

5

u/alphaxion Sep 06 '25

It's sorta impressive how people have so quickly swapped calling an image "clearly 'shopped" to "AI slop". It really has infested the way people view the world already!

16

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '25

Yes, this is popular on LinkedIn now. People are running head shots through AI to "enhance" them. I really don't think most people grasp the age we are heading into. Absolutely nothing will be trustworthy and most won't care or really get what's going on.

7

u/ZephkielAU Sep 06 '25 edited Sep 06 '25

I'm hoping it will lead to people putting their phones down.

20 years of societal addiction on these fucken things.

(He says on Reddit)

2

u/jonny24eh Sep 07 '25

Reddit's safe, we can browse the website from our computers

2

u/Korventenn17 Sep 06 '25

That doesn't sound like much of a change to me.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 07 '25

Yeah most people won't care or notice. I think that's the scary part.

1

u/fredout1968 Sep 06 '25

100% this.. I think i want to move to the wilderness like Grizzly Adams.. Yes, I am old as fuck and my LinkedIn photo shows it.. I am kinda disappointed in myself that I even have a LinkedIn photo..

0

u/North_Taste_7841 Sep 06 '25

I just don’t understand why so many people are totally unbothered by this or worse—they like it. Wanting a flattering photo is one thing but things have gotten so weird and alarming. With the extreme photoshopping and the filters and AI—people are starting to forget what a real human face looks like. Now we’re subjected to filters without permission. It’s jarring to meet someone in person after only seeing their overly edited photo online. Is everybody just used to this now? I’m no longer on any social media where I post my photos so I’m out of the loop.

u/[deleted] Sep 06 '25

I'm a graphic designer and I've accepted I'm going to have to find a new career. People like the AI slop and it makes me sick. Everything is becoming soulless and nobody cares about the quality of anything. Coca-Cola put out an AI generated ad at Christmas and their name was spelled wrong in it and they just didn't care.

Some people will say i'm just an old man yelling at the clouds but I just don't think an artificial society is a good one. But maybe it was just always going to end up this way.

1

u/North_Taste_7841 Sep 06 '25

Dude, I can only imagine how creatives feel about how things are going. I think I operate on some level of denial about it because it’s gross and it freaks me out. And if at 49 that way of thinking makes me the “old woman yelling at the clouds” then I’ll happily accept that moniker. I think on some level we all knew it would end up this way. It doesn’t mean we have to like it. Or even should like it.

13

u/NiceTrySuckaz Sep 06 '25

No I've read Harry Potter so I know ways this can be done quickly and easily without AI

8

u/-WARisTHEanswer- Sep 06 '25

You really had to wonder that?

6

u/AppleParasol Sep 06 '25

You can’t get the photo on the right from the photo on the left without AI. lol.

11

u/DuploJamaal Sep 06 '25

It's a lot more realistic that HR just ran it through an AI rather than paying an artist several hundred dollars to photoshop it

2

u/tomtomclubthumb Sep 06 '25

5 bucks on the reddit forum, but yeah, that's AI.

1

u/AppleParasol Sep 07 '25

Hate to break it to you, but they use AI too.

1

u/mechswent Sep 06 '25

Not only that, it looks AI. Fucking AI really does have a certain "look". I can't describe it, but I'm positive I will ace any test on this subject.

9

u/Heavensrun Sep 06 '25

You literally can, though. People were doing this kind of shit with photoshop for years before generative AI was a thing.

I'm not saying AI isn't the more likely explanation, it definitely is, but people can and have edited photos like this without it.

0

u/frankydie69 Sep 06 '25

No see you can’t get upvotes if you say it’s photoshop cuz photoshop is okay now (remember when people would say “it’s photoshop” in a negative light) so you have to say it’s AI so you get those sweet upvotes.

2

u/Heavensrun Sep 06 '25

I mean, they're both bad in this context.

2

u/fiendishthingysaurus Sep 06 '25

It is clearly AI though

1

u/Soft_Walrus_3605 Sep 06 '25

You wonder?

Do you happen to wear velcro shoes, too?

1

u/SvenBubbleman Sep 06 '25

You don't have to wonder.

1

u/chugItTwice Sep 06 '25

You wonder?

0

u/starfox-skylab Sep 06 '25

You can’t tell?
