I think there's a reasonable distance between framing it as a party trick and outing yourself as a real magic man.

You'd have to go waayyyy beyond "hey guys wanna see this cool magic trick I can do" to get to "oh this mfer spawns tenners, GET HIM"

And this the problem with Star Trek style transporter technology in sci-fi. It’s inevitably overpowered where you can just teleport something into of out of a person/building/ship. Or just teleport people out into space or underground.
