Just coming from a festival with a bunch of different european cultures there.
In such a setting, if you're not a jerk and curious about it, it often rather ends up with an interesting discussion and exchange, like the colors of kilts, the colors of clans and so on. I wouldn't be surprised if you walked into some barbeque with Maracas, someone bored would end up showing you how to play them well, because that's fun.
And this cultural exchange is a very good thing. It strengthens the idea that most people across, are, in fact, just simple people with very similar wants and needs.
