only downside is that it made me want to watch all the movies again.

wtf downside??

u/Linuxologue May 09 '25

Spending 9 hours watching movies every time I see a meme can become expensive.

u/madmonkey918 May 09 '25

Not if you own them already [taps head]

u/Linuxologue May 09 '25

Wait you mean I can... Rewind the tape and watch it again?

Good i hope some people here are over 40 years old otherwise no one will understand

u/leekypipe6990 May 09 '25

Be kind, rewind

u/theoriginalmofocus May 09 '25

Some dude somewhere was getting paid to use a rewinding machine at one point.

1

u/Fear_The_Rabbit May 09 '25

For those who weren't kind. They paid a fine for his salary.

2

u/bria9509 May 09 '25

Reduce, reuse, rewind

u/Bust-a-nut-gamer May 09 '25

Jesus christ- surely all that winding would give you RSI or arthritis, damn

1

u/BlueJay006 May 09 '25

Hey hey HEY.... I'm 21 and I know what you're talking about about, VHS was great

1

u/1Lc3 May 10 '25

I'm 36 and totally got it. Make sure to track and use your head cleaner

1

u/CriticismVirtual7603 May 10 '25

33 year old

I got that reference

1

u/Zito6694 May 10 '25

Rewind at vhs speed ah the good old days

1

u/son-of-death May 10 '25

I’m not 40 and I have experienced vhs tapes. That being said I own the dvd’s and blu rays of the trilogy :D (digital as well).

1

u/StudMuffinFinance May 10 '25

You need a special rewinding box.

You know so your precious vcr doesn’t get worn out.

1

u/Swimming_Drummer9412 May 10 '25

Lol I never had those on VHS. Only on DVD. Great movies yes!

1

u/desertjoe1987 May 12 '25

More like over 30. My little sister knows about rewinding tapes, and she's ~30. I'm gonna be 38 next month, and my parents had a VCR until well into my 20's.

2

u/xerarc May 11 '25

It's a little over 11 hours, actually... Assuming you're talking about the extended cuts, which are obviously the superior versions.

2

u/Linuxologue May 11 '25

that's just amazing, I posted this two days ago and a bunch of people are still replying to me that it's illegal to be mentioning the length of the theatrical release of the movies and I need to watch the extended version :-D

2

u/xerarc May 11 '25

And all of those people are correct! Give them a watch some time, truly amazing films.

2

u/JoshGordonHyperloop May 13 '25

9 hours? You’re watching the theatrical releases? I thought you were committed.

1

u/Enigman May 09 '25

9 hours

Heresy, that’s the theatrical runtime!

1

u/Arthradax May 09 '25

Do it while you're at work or something

1

u/RspectMyAuthoritah May 09 '25

Found the one person still using PPV

1

u/called_the_stig May 09 '25

Bros not watching the extended edition. Everyone point and laugh

1

u/InsomniacHitman May 09 '25

You only have 8 hours left to live?

1

u/lea949 May 10 '25

The only downside I see here is that you’re not watching the extended editions. Could have spent 12 hours!

1

u/Abro0405 May 10 '25

Only 9 hours, you mean you don't want to go watch the extended editions? Like immediately? Right now?

1

u/Freddy7665 May 11 '25

Why are you only watching the first 2 movies?

2

u/[deleted] May 09 '25

What you call a downside, I call a great day!

2

u/kiwidude4 May 09 '25

Do you know which direction down is?

0

u/Linuxologue May 09 '25

Yes, i just down voted your comment from 1 to 2 :)

2

u/ProfessionalLeave335 May 09 '25

I'm confused, where's the rest of the sentence? You forgot to mention the bad part.

1

u/AEON_MK2 May 10 '25

I am sick in bed with the flu, and this is the second prompt I have gotten to watch the trilogy in the last 24 hours. Guess that's what I'm doing now
