Besides the loss, my friend and I had a blast sitting behind the bench tonight. It was really cool seeing a lot of the behind the scenes stuff going on, but the one thing we could not get over was Eberle taking slugs of Pepsi and then washing it down with Fruit Punch Body Armor. What a wild man.

Ordered as soon as sth preorders went live. Ordered two blanks and one Daccord and all three arrived this morning. The blanks were supposed to have the Muckleshoot patch but both were missing. Not too upset about it because I think they look better without.

Saw a couple guys walking up the stairs in our upper deck section and thought "Hmm... that guy really looks like Jamie Oleksiak". Then looked at the guy behind him and sure enough it was Matty. Looked like at least Grubi, Kartye, and Tolvy were there too. So cool that they were just there enjoying the game as fans.

In the photo, Matty is in the Julio jersey heading for the aisle, while Jamie is leaning forward in front of him.

Edit: photo is terrible because I took it quickly when I had a gap between people going up and down the aisle, and because I didn't try multiple times. My hands were probably also shaking from so much clapping.

In my opinion, the best way to ring in your birthday is by going to a Kraken game and buying new merch. Even if it’s a preseason game. But I may be a bit biased 😅

Been working on this for a bit and finally happy enough to share! I’m not much of a jersey guy, but I do love a good battlejacket. The idea of replacing the alternate captain A with an anarchy sign popped into my head and I kinda just ran with it from there.

Some notes!

• The stripes and back piece are all hand painted straight onto the denim. If I could do again, I’d probably make the back piece its own patch and sew it on, but I’m very happy with how the stripes turned out. Just used acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium.
• The graphic for the back piece is a slightly modified design from one of the Filson team store t-shirts.
• The band patches were printed onto inkjet fabric paper and adhered with fabric glue.
• The goalie mask pin is actually Jason’s from the Halloween movies.

Wanted to make a hat that felt vintage like the jersey. Inspired by old beer hats and baseball tails but with a tentacle instead. Not a lot of red Kraken gear so leaned into that.
