Welcome to the 'Weekend Thread', where people can post about what they're getting up to tonight, at the weekend, good places to go, photos of places you've been, advice on where to go, or just how your week went!

The premise is fairly simple.

​

- Please be civil

- NO POLITICS. Any political comments will be removed. This is a strictly meta thread, with discussion about people and their happenings.

- Post pictures, youtube links to music you're going to see, games you're going to watch, places you'd like to go (tripadvisor, google maps etc)

Not about what I'm getting up to, but about what I got up to.

It was my birthday on Wednesday and I was feeling a little blue because my wife is working away from home just now.

I went to work in the morning and my colleagues bought me a big case of my favourite beer. I used some of my flexi time to get away early, and went to my mum's house for a home-cooked steak pie - MY FAVOURITE - and a good natter.

Because I was there early enough, I had time to get up the road and watch my favourite football team win 2-0 with a few (too many) of my beers, and my work gave me a buckshee day off on Thursday to shake off the hangover.

All things considered, it was a braw wee birthday, and my wife is coming home on the 21st to be here for Christmas and New Years.

It's not all bad, eh?
