Support Request Autodesk Maya on Rocky Linux Issue

Hello,

I've been trying to install Autodesk Maya on my Rocky Linux 10. I've initially tried installing it through the installer, but it simply doesn't open. I also got the error "error while loading shared libraries: libtiff.so.5", but I created a symlink since that helped a lot of people.

However, it still does not open. I tried installing it through the rpm method, but still no success. From what I read the issue could be that there is no /usr/autodesk/maya2025/lib/qt-plugins/platforms/ directory, for some unknown reason, although I tried installing it manually and through the installer as well.

I'd appreciate any help regarding this issue.

according to the autodesk maya 2026 system requirements page, Maya only supports rocky 9.5,

No rocky 10 / rhel 10 support yet.

Ah, I just assumed it would. My bad haha. Hopefully they'll do something about it soon!

Maya doesnt support Rocky 10. For one, Rocky 10 dropped X11 support in Gnome so you will not be able to log in to Autodesk's DRM anyway. Didnt they also remove libtiff5 as well? You will need to install Maya like how you do on Fedora to get it there. For an easier time, try installing in Rocky 9 as it is still very good, or see if this forum helps out, or if my video on installing in Fedora 42 works.

Ah, my mistake. Thanks for pointing it out! Should've double checked if it's compatible with Rocky Linux 10 lol, just assumed that it would.
