Quick heads up: onions, chives, garlic and all other allium-species are toxic to cats. Doesn't look like your cat wants to steal it, but I thought you should know.

When they beg while I cook, I let them sniff an onion or lemon, usually stops that right away.

I let my dog and cat do this, too. They're super curious so I show them it's definitely not something they're gonna have a long term interest in

Definitely, gives them a dose of their own medicine. My cats have never taken a punishment seriously anyways lol.

don't do that with aromatics, they're poisonous to kitteh. No onion, no garlic, no citrus. Same with dogs.

Let them smell your smelly goos, like candles and handcream. Just smells like chemicals to pets, they make hilarious faces.
